I was almost caught out by Grosvenor Sport’s welcome offer advertisement. When you sign up, the site bounces its welcome offer along the top of the page. I clicked on this offer to take advantage of the deal, but it was the casino’s new customer bonus which was no use to me. 

Referring to the promotions tab within the ‘Sports’ section was my next port of call. Here, I found one of the most fascinating bonuses ever produced by a UK bookmaker. Not a matched deposit offer, nor a free bet bonus – this one is unlike many that have come before it.

You don’t even have to deposit to activate the offer. Yet, the rewards are undeniably fruitful. 

Titled ‘Double the Odds’, this welcome bonus hands a 100% odds boost token to all newly registered bettors. The token is eligible for use on any selection and sport, making it highly accessible for players of all interests. 

Terms and Conditions

With so little required from players to participate in the welcome offer, Grosvenor’s terms and conditions are quite limited. Just make sure that you’re using a brand new account as existing profiles are disqualified. 

A maximum bet limit of £10 is linked to the welcome bonus, with each way wagers restricted to £5 each way. Qualifying bets must be confirmed within 60 days of receiving the odds boost token. Otherwise, you’ll lose access to doubled odds. 

The best part is that all winnings resulting from the Double the Odds promotion are credited to your account in cash. 

Ongoing Promotions

Grosvenor Sport is packed with a mixture of free and paid bonuses for existing punters. The ‘free’ promotions are essentially guessing games and scratch card wins. You’re tasked with predicting NFL results in Target 21, and matching icons in Grosvenor Scratch & Win. The latter is a strange inclusion for a sports platform – but when I learned that the rewards are sports-based bonuses, it made more sense. 

The last of the free games is Fantasy 5. Pick five players to beat their projected points in fantasy football and, if every selection is correct, you’ll win up to £10,000. 

Now onto the paid promotions. Grosvenor’s range of offers starts with a cashback deal if your horse finishes second behind the starting price favourite. Up to £20 in returns is on the table here. 

Similarly, Grosvenor provides £10 acca insurance if one leg of your accumulator lets you down. There’s a bit of a catch, though – the supported accumulator is a pre-made selection. Nevertheless, those who decide to take part can get a free bet if the wager loses. If you’d rather look elsewhere for a freebie, the Grosvenor Sport Club offers another avenue towards a free bet. All you need to do is opt-in, bet £25 per week, and enjoy your weekly free bet. 

Two further promotions for existing players are available at Grosvenor. Starting with the more innovative of the pair, I’ll dig into the Video Assisted Returns deal – a VAR-centric offer. If your selection would have won if not for the intervention of VAR ruling out a goal, Grosvenor will pay out your wager as a winner in cash. 

Finally, the Boost Bundle. Up to four 20% odds boost tokens are up for grabs with this one, but not without cost. In layman's terms, you’ll need to bet £20 on each wager involving the token at odds of evens or better. All winnings are paid in cash.

Taking all of the above into account, I’d consider Grosvenor Sport’s array of bonuses some of the best around.

Sports and Markets

Grosvenor Sport offers 31 options to bet on, albeit two—TV and Politics—are far from actual sports. Your usuals are all here, though, with football, rugby, tennis, motorsports, golf, MMA, and other popular selections available.

I was surprised at the in-depth nature of eSports. On top of DOTA 2, League of Legends, and CS:GO—all of which you’ll find at competing sites—Grosvenor also pushed prices for Rainbow 6, Halo, Mobile Legends, Rocket League, Starcraft 1 & 2, Valorant, and Warcraft 3. Though, as expected, only the most basic markets are available for eSports. 

Against an operator like SkyBet, Grosvenor loses in terms of eSports markets. On the other hand, the operator blows SkyBet out of the water with its range of supported eSports tournaments.

Design and Usability

Pertinent to the success of any online sports betting website is its ease of use. Grosvenor Sport outranks many competitors in this regard, with impressive UI elements from stem to stern. 

Coloured shades of warm purple, Grosvenor Sport exudes a welcoming aura. Squared icons representing popular sports, bonuses, games, and in-play events sit in the header menu. Just below are the day’s best promotions and featured bets. 

Scrolling further down the page I was met by horse racing prices and live stream buttons. Plus, Grosvenor displays odds for ‘Featured Football Matches’ with easy sliders and icons to create unique selections. Putting selections together led me to the betslip – an otherwise hidden feature.

Grosvenor Sports bet slip is equally easy to use. First-time bettors should tick the box beneath a selection to activate the 100% odds boost token. Existing punters can utilise other offers when available. 

However, you must be motivated to get familiar with the rest of the bookie’s layout. Regulars at Bet365 and SkyBet will be used to seeing instant odds for a wide range of sporting action but this isn’t something immediately offered by Grosvenor. If I were to make a change to the platform, it would be to follow suit of those two rivals. This is especially true for Grosvenor’s mobile betting sports app, as the iOS and Android app is unreasonably messy compared to its sister platform.

Payment Methods and Withdrawal Times

I wasn’t hugely impressed by Grosvenor Sport’s list of payment methods. Most top bookmakers support five or six popular deposit options – but Grosvenor accepts just three. Debit cards, PayPal, and Paysafecard represent the trio of available payment methods, with minimum deposits starting from £5. 

Information on withdrawals is an equally disappointing affair as only debit cards and PayPal are eligible for outward transactions. Like deposits, a minimum withdrawal limit of £5 applies. Expect PayPal payouts to process within 24 hours, while debit card transactions will succeed in a few days. 

A quick examination of Bet365 tells me that Trustly, debit cards, wire transfer, PayPal, and Paysafecard are withdrawal-supported. Between the two, it’s pretty easy to deduce the winner when it comes to banking. 

In-Play Betting Options

Listed as the second icon within Grosvenor Sport’s header menu is ‘Live Betting’. Dedicated to all ongoing events, this area is the place to be for in-game wagers across various sports. 

Football, tennis, darts, racing, eSports, basketball, and more are all here, as well as other events currently underway. The long and short of it is this: if an event within one of Grosvenor’s categories is live, you’ll find odds for it in this section. 

Live streaming for select sports brings punters as close to the action as one can get without physically attending. When streams aren’t available, a virtual field is presented on the right-hand side of the screen. Free kicks, goals, and other stages of play can be caught via the in-game assistant. You can also find access to the statistics area that offers a whole host of information on the event. 

A big push for bet builders is undertaken by Grosvenor in the live betting area. A ‘BB’ symbol next to each event tells you whether the service is available. Similarly, you can settle bets early if the green ‘cash out’ symbol is present within your betslip after adding a selection. 

Bet Builder

As mentioned earlier, Grosvenor Sport offers a bet builder for select sporting events. It’s easy to figure out if your preferred match is supported by the feature – just keep an eye out for an orange ‘BB’ symbol. 

Overall match result, player to score, bookings, corners, total goals, double chance, and others are all ready to be linked to your bet builder. Your job is straightforward; click on prices to add them to a unique selection, then confirm your bet builder wager via the betslip. 

Grosvenor Sport Betting App

In a rare instance where the app is poorer than the desktop version of the same platform, Grosvenor has a lot of work to do. The app holds too much information for such a small scale, thus clogging my mobile with uncharacteristically needless ads and details. 

Even on an iPhone 14 Pro Max, I couldn’t see a single price that wasn’t part of a bonus or boost advertisement unless I scrolled down. On a positive note, there were links to racing price boosts, football boosted odds, and in-play boost tokens – but as a new player I’m not interested just yet. I wanted to see how competitive Grosvenor’s prices were. 

As a plus, the app was easy to use. By being highly responsive and utilising an intuitive footer menu, I made my way from A to B quickly. If only the innards of each section on the app were on par with the desktop platform. 

I won’t shy away from recommending the app to Grosvenor players, especially those who indulge in roulette – there’s a link to the popular casino game in the bottom right-hand corner. But, if you currently play on desktop, you’re best staying put. 

Customer Support

Contacting customer services at Grosvenor Sport is both simple and difficult. On one hand, the site provides a live chat icon that follows you no matter where you go. Football? It’s there. Depositing? Live chat is one click away. 

The problem I found is that the live chat service is a bot. I tried to contact an agent through the usual loopholes—Grosvenor doesn’t tell you how to speak to an agent—by typing ‘agent’ multiple times and selecting ‘other’ from the list of options presented by ‘Chip’. In the end, I was left with a never-ending loading screen with no explanation. 

You can call Grosvenor’s support staff on 0800 083 1990. This number is hidden in the ‘complaints’ area, so don’t fret if you’re struggling to find it. Agents are on-hand from 8am to 8pm on weekdays, and 9am to 4pm during weekends. Email support is unavailable.

Summary

Some high points and a couple of low points – Grosvenor Sport is a mixed bag. When I first logged in I was feeling positive. No constant pop-ups. A minimalistic design. Everything felt polished. 

But, the deeper I dug, the more issues I uncovered. Few payment options, limited customer support, and a lacklustre mobile app let the bookie down in a variety of ways. 

It’s a solid product compared to rivals in the industry. Players who’ve never tried Grosvenor Sport are missing out on some useful features, but existing punters may feel understandably bored of the glaring issues. As someone who’d never used Grosvenor before, I came away happy I gave it a go.
