Mr Play Existing Customer Promotions and Regular Offers
Mr Play doesn’t excel when it comes to existing customer offers.
At the moment they only have the PlayBOOST! Promotion and the ubiquitous Odds Boosts, which I’ve delved into in more detail below.
PlayBOOST!
Mr Play’s PlayBOOST! Promotion gives existing customers the opportunity to boost their accumulator winnings.
In order to qualify, players must select at least four pre-match bets for their acca at minimum odds of 1/5. The bigger the acca the bigger the boost, as shown in the Extra Winnings examples here:
- 4-folds – 4%
- 5-folds – 7%
- 6-folds – 10%
- 7-folds – 15%
- 8-folds – 20%
- 9-folds – 25%
- 10-folds – 30%
- 11-folds – 35%
- 12-folds – 40%
- 13-folds – 45%
- 14-folds – 50%
- 15-folds – 77%
Pre-event selections can be from all sports, leagues and competitions, with the provision that horse racing selections must be fixed odds on the day of the race.
A word of advice, though. Even though it’s nice for the Mr Play Sportsbook to boost your odds on all accas with 4 or more selections, it doesn’t pay to go in search of further boosts by adding more and more selections to your acca.
The more selections you have in your acca, the more likely it is that one of them will let you down and that the acca becomes a loser, rather than a winner. And when that happens, it doesn’t matter how big the acca boost is because you won’t be benefiting from it anyway!
So the moral of the story is to just place selections ’naturally’ and benefit from the boost that’s available, rather than keep adding more bets in search of even bigger boosts. In the long run, it doesn’t pay to be greedy with accas.
Boosted Odds
Boosted Odds, or Odds Boosts as they’re sometimes also known are one of the great innovations in sports betting over the past few years. The concept is simple: the bookie sets their odds as usual, then decides to make certain selections a bigger price than they would normally be in order to attract more business. One of the good things about Odds Boosts is that the extra winnings you get as a result of them are cash rather than bonus money, so there aren’t any wagering requirements on them.
The day we checked, Mr Play had Odds Boosts on five different football sections, which is quite a lot. These included Cardiff City to win either half against Aston Villa in the FA Cup (boosted from 6.5 to 7.0) and Marcus Rashford to have an assist at any time in that same match (boosted from 3.6 to 3.8).
The maximum bet for all Boosted Odds selections is £50.
Whereas it’s helpful to make 5 or so Boosted Odds selections a day available, it would be nice if they were also available for sports other than football. The other thing is that the actual Boosts aren’t as generous as they are at other betting sites. In both the examples above, the Boost in price is 9%, whereas other bookies tend to boost them by about 15%.
Casino Games & Prizes
Over on the casino section of Mr Play, existing customers have the opportunity to get up to 50 spins with the Daily Spin Frenzy Challenge, there are prize drops and daily tournaments in Drop & Wins, while you can enjoy the 'Game of the Week' Bonuses, Spins and Surprises.

Our Mr Play Review
Mr Play’s Bet £10 Get £10 Free Bet sign up offer is solid, if unspectacular, and I found opening an account a simple and straightforward process. Whether you are looking to bet on the Premier League or Water Polo, Mr Play does a great job of catering for all sports enthusiasts by providing an extensive range of sports and markets.
Similarly, the in-play section contains a vast array of betting opportunities and an attractive in-game statistics hub.
The PlayBoost acca feature gives you the option to enhance your extra winnings by a whopping 77%, which is a big plus, and the Boosted Odds are also a decent helping hand.
However, there is still room for improvement in what was an otherwise limited selection of sportsbook offers for existing customers.
Ongoing promotions such as free bets, reload bonuses and cashback are a huge part of bookies keeping players engaged and coming back for more and by not having any beyond the acca boost and Boosted Odds, they’re seriously missing out on the chance to make sure their customers want to come back to the site to claim them, and carry on playing in the process.
We’re about to look in more detail as to what we like and don’t like about other aspects of Mr Play. But for the time being, we’ll say that in the six years they've been around for, they’ve developed a good reputation in the eyes of the betting public as a Sportsbook that’s trustworthy and honest, so that’s certainly a positive.
Mr Play Pros and Cons
When evaluating a bookmaker, it's essential to take into account the Pros and Cons they offer to ensure an informed and balanced betting experience. In this section, I run you through the various advantages and disadvantages that I noted when using Mr Play.
Pros & Cons of using Mr Play

- Great range of sports and markets.
- Numerous in-play options.
- Variety of different payment methods.
- PlayBOOST feature.
- Good for Esports betting.
- Useful in-market info for horse racing.
- Take Responsible Gambling seriously.
Negatives
- Limited existing customer offers.
- Customer service isn’t available 24/7.
- Generosity of odds not always the best.
Mr Play Key Sportsbook Features: What Makes Signing Up Worthwhile?
In this section, I hand pick some of the key features available on Mr Play’s sportsbook, ranging from in-play offerings to Cash Out functionality.
Betting In-Play
I found betting in-play to be an enjoyable, interactive, and dynamic betting experience on Mr Play. The in-play section is easily identifiable and accessible on the homepage of both the desktop and the betting app. Click through and you’ll be greeted with a plethora of sports markets, complete with attractive in-game statistics for all the major sports.
Bet Builders
You can build the bet of your choice with Mr Play’s Bet Builder feature, which can be used on a variety of sports, including football, tennis, Australian rules football, American football, and many more. This feature gives players more flexibility and control over their bets, allowing them to tailor their wagers to specific outcomes or scenarios within a sporting event.
What’s interesting here is that their Bet Builder offering extends beyond far more than just football, which is the case at a lot of other betting sites.
Whereas we’ve occasionally seen them available for American Football and basketball before, we rarely see them for the sports just mentioned.
Cash Out
Take control of your bets with Mr Play’s Cash Out feature, which is available on selected events, matches and markets both pre-match and in-play. Whether it's a single or combo bet, you can take your winnings with just a touch of the button.
Strong for horse racing
If you’re a UK-facing bookmaker, it’s important to have a good product for horse racing. After all, it’s the most popular sport to bet on among UK customers, alongside football.
And Mr Play does have a good racing product. They cover all the races from the UK and Ireland, plus Australia. They provide racecards within the markets themselves with the horse’s form and info about the jockeys and trainers that saves you having to go elsewhere.
You can bet on the horse to win, each-way or place Tricast and Forecast bets. Yes, it’s true that other bookies have more markets on offer such as To Place and Winning Distance but those four types of bets are more than enough for most customers.
They also have live streaming of the races available for those who are logged into their accounts.
Esports fans will be happy
Sitting and watching other people play video games and betting on them may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s hard to deny that the rise in popularity of Esports betting has gone through the roof in recent years.
And if you’re a fan, you’ll find betting available for the likes of Dota2, Call of Duty, Counter-Strike, League of Legends and a few others with a good choice of markets to choose from.

Sports You Can Bet On at Mr Play
Mr Play offers a wide variety of sporting events worldwide, with over 40 listed at the time of review. Mr Play provides coverage for all the popular sports like football, horse racing, and tennis, while there’s also a more diverse range of sports including water polo, ice hockey, and esports. Here’s the full list.

What Betting Markets are Available on Mr Play?
Like any good Sportsbook, there are lots of different betting markets allowing you plenty of choice when it comes to what you want to bet on. Here are a few of them.
Outright Betting
Some bookies neglect this side of things but they shouldn’t. Not everyone wants the immediate satisfaction of betting on a match that will be over in a couple of hours. Some punters prefer to play the long game and go for Outright selections for football leagues, tennis tournaments and the like which may take months, or in some cases years, to be settled. For those punters, the good news is there are plenty of Outright markets here.
Cards Betting
Football betting isn’t just about who wins the game or how many goals are scored. Customers are increasingly interested in betting on other elements of the match such as how many cards there will be in it. Most of the time you can only bet on whether there will be more or less than x cards in the game but occasionally other cards markets are available, as well.
Set Betting
Whereas most tennis punters will want to play the winner market, others looking for bigger prices may fancy chancing their arm at the set betting market, instead. You’ll need to correctly predict what the score will be, in sets.
So if it was Djokovic v Alcaraz in a three-set match, you might want to bet that Alcaraz wins 2-1, or if it was a Grand Slam match, that the Spaniard wins it 3-2.

Banking With Mr Play
In this section, I’ve outlined the payment methods available for depositing and withdrawing funds on Mr Play.
Mr Play Deposit Methods
Mr Play houses a range of depositing methods, from your more commonplace Visa and Paypal options to more niche services like Paysafecard and GiroPay. However, given that new customers who deposit using Neteller, Paysafe, PayPal, Skrill or Skrill 1-Tap will not be eligible for the Mr Play sign-up offer, I recommend using another depositing method such as Visa/Mastercard.
Either way, it’s a shame because PayPal and the other E-wallets listed above are all good options to use at bookies for being quick, easy to use and anonymous so the fact that you can’t use any of them if you want that welcome offer is a little disappointing.

Does Mr Play have a Mobile App?
The Mr Play mobile betting app provides users with a convenient and intuitive platform for accessing a wide range of betting markets and live odds while on the go, which can be effortlessly accessed towards the top of the app.
The Mr Play app is easy to use and navigate around, with the excellent in-play section displayed prominently, between ‘highlights’ and ‘upcoming’ events sections. If I were to be overly critical, as is the case on desktop too, there is an abundance of the colour grey; a splash of colour would perhaps be more pleasing on the eye.
Responsible Gambling Features
Their dedicated RG section has plenty there to help you keep your gambling in check and support if you feel you do have a problem.
It explains how RG tools such as Time Outs, deposit limits and session time limits work and of course, gives you the link to those very tools.
It also explains how to use software that blocks minors and others who shouldn’t be accessing gambling sites from doing so and provides links to charities and other organisations like Gambler’s Anonymous and GAMSTOP.

Is Mr Play a Trustworthy and Safe Brand?
Mr Play is a trustworthy and reputable betting company, which is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission. A few online searches on forums and customer experience websites also show that there are very few complaints about Mr Play in terms of lack of security, not paying out on winning bets or anything else untoward so yes, they’re a Sportsbook that’s trustworthy and safe.

Mr Play’s customer service team can be contacted on live chat, seven days a week from 8am to 1am CET. Alternatively, you can send them a message via their Contact Us section. Otherwise, there is an extensive FAQ section, covering a range of topics, including privacy, topics, depositing, responsible gambling, and much more.
All that said, it’s a shame that they don’t have a phone line available for customers to turn to. Not all queries are simple and easily fixed in writing so phone calls are sometimes the best option for agents to talk customers through their issues in real time. Let’s hope they introduce one in the near future.

Our Experience Using Mr Play
Users looking for a comprehensive betting experience will favour Mr Play, who offer a respectable sign-up offer. There are a wide range of sports markets available, with football the stand-out. A detailed search revealed over 1000 markets with competitive odds across various leagues, competitions, and matches, from the Finland domestic cup to the Women’s Primera Division in Chile.
Mr Play offers features like cash out, in-play betting, and an attractive Acca boost feature with opportunities for huge payouts. Mr Play also places a high importance on promoting responsible gambling and offers users the necessary tools to responsibly manage their betting activities.
Fans of football and horse racing betting will like what they find here with a good supply of markets. And while betting on the racing, you can also stream the race so you can see how your selection gets on. They also get brownie points for having Bet Builders for sports such as Aussie Rules, tennis and American Football, in addition to just football.
As for areas of improvement, Mr Play could look to add more sportsbook promotions and bonuses for existing customers, who at the moment can only look forward to Acca Boosts and Boosted Odds.
Other things they can introduce are a phone line to get in touch with Customer Service agents and live streaming for more sports other than just racing. And the day I checked, their house edge was around 9% on most markets, which is a bit too high for my liking.
So this is a decent Sportsbook that will satisfy the needs of most intermediate betting customers. But in truth, other bookies we recommend here at Betting Odds have more features, bonuses and other frills than this one.
