World Cup Winner/Top Goalscorer Tips: Kane, Messi, Neymar and Mbappe set to light up Qatar

We are set for a fabulous 2022 World Cup in Qatar as the footballing heavyweights battle it out to secure the trophy next month, and here at BettingOdds we turn our attention to the tough task of trying to find the Winner/Top Goalscorer Double.
With some huge prices available it's certainly a wide open market and our man Steve Chambers takes a look at some of the leading names in the race for glory...
Winner/Top Goalscorer Tips
Brazil/Neymar
Back in 2002 the incomparable Brazilian superstar Ronaldo spearheaded his nation to World Cup glory.
Having scored a whopping eight games the legendary striker bagged the top goalscorer crown as well as his country Brazil lifting the World Cup.
So, can this year's iconic Brazilian star Neymar emulate 'R9' by bagging the Top Goalscorer crown and inspiring Brazil's first World Cup in 20 years?
There's no surprise to see that double is one of the favourites with several bookmakers offering an eye-catching 25/1.
England/Kane
Joining Neymar at the top of the list in the Winner/Top Goalscorer market is the England/Harry Kane double, which is also the 25/1 market leader.
The Tottenham Hotspur striker bagged the top goalscorer title back in Russia in 2018 with six goals. Arguably one of the world's elite strikers will now be looking to propel Gareth Southgate's Three Lions to a first World Cup win since 1966, after falling just short in the European Championships.
However, while Kane has been scoring with aplomb in the Premier League (12 in 15 PL matches) and is likely to continue his scoring ways with a relatively straightforward Group B, England have shown significant frailties in recent times and can't be fancied to land the prize.
Argentina/Messi
Fresh from Copa America glory, Argentina have to be respected and are currently 11/2 second favourites in the World Cup Winner betting and there's no doubting they will need a certain Lionel Messi to turn up and deliver the goods.
The Argentina/Messi double is a best-priced 28/1, but one that could slip under the radar for the Argentineans is Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez, who may have to play second fiddle to Messi, but could be an integral part of the squad and the 150/1 available with Argentina/Alvarez doing the double is eye-catching.
France/Mbappe & Benzema
France will fancy their chances of fighting it out in the latter stages and their top marksman will be the enigmatic Kylian Mbappe, with the France/Mbappe double available at 33/1,
His potential strike partner, Madrid striker Karim Benzema, has been producing the goods at the highest level for over a decade now and it's 40/1 for the France/Benzema double.
Portugal/Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo has been swamping the front and back pages with his explosive interview with Piers Morgan about his grievances with Manchester United, but the Portuguese legend has always been a real superstar for his country.
A lack of playing time is certainly a worry with Ronaldo, who has failed to fire on all cylinders, but a return to international football could see him blossom and while a Portugal/Ronaldo double is available at 125/1, it's more than likely that Ronaldo has to take a backward step away from the limelight.
Alternatives
In such a wide open event, this market really is a tough one to call, but with Brazil the most likely winners then it's hard to not put them as winners and the likes of Kane, Mbappe and Messi are sure to be scoring plenty of goals, so the Brazil/Kane (66/1), Brazil/Mbappe (50/1) and Brazil/Messi (90/1) all have to be respected.
