Wolves vs Man City Prediction, Odds and Betting Tips: Back Erling Haaland to fire at 10/1
Sunday's Premier League double-header starts at Molineux where rock-bottom Wolves take on defending champions Man City, live on Sky Sports at 2pm.
Tom Winch has previewed the game and provided his best bets, including a 10/1 shot.
Wolves vs Man City Predictions
Wolves are bottom of the Premier League. Gary O’Neil’s men have conceded 21 goals, six more than anyone else, although finding the back of the net hasn’t been a problem in 2024/25. It’s been a tough start for Wolves who have faced Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Villa and Liverpool. With Manchester City up next, they couldn't cause a shock, could they?
Manchester City have accumulated 17 points from their seven matches. Pep Guardiola’s side haven’t lost a Premier League game since December 6th 2023. That’s impressive. Six of seven teams have found the back of the net against them this season. They’re susceptible defensively and miss their midfield maestro, Rodri.
I’m expecting an entertaining affair when these sides meet on Sunday. Wolves have struggled in the early stages but have shown a punch in attack. Arsenal have been the only side that has prevented them from scoring back on the opening day. Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen have shown quality in forward areas. Rayan Ait Nouri is a super talent who has scored and assisted twice and is a threat from the left-hand side.
You can never back against Manchester City. They’re a side who always seem to get the job done. Pep’s men can count themselves lucky that Adama Traore was wasteful in front of goal when City edged past Fulham 3-2 before the international break. Marco Silva’s side racked up 2.60xG at the Etihad. Ipswich, West Ham, Brentford, Arsenal, and Newcastle have all scored against the champions.
BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals is a selection I’m sure will give us a good run for our money. It’s a bet that has landed 10 times from 14 matches this season. A positive result will do Wolves and Gary O’Neil a world of good. It’s now 19 games without a Premier League shutout. Wolves must score if they want to earn any points.

Erling Haaland has scored two hat-tricks in the Premier League this season. The Norwegian scores goals for fun, and he could be in for a joyful afternoon at Molineux. Wolves have the third-worst xGA (14.0). They’ve shipped a whopping 21 goals. Gary O’Neil’s men have conceded multiple times in six matches, and Brentford scored five past them last time out.
I don’t think we need to discuss Haaland’s capabilities. He’s a threat and can make any defence look silly. Manchester City’s number 9 has averaged 5.01 shots per 90, with 3.29 hitting the target. Those figures are insane. He’ll have numerous attempts on Sunday afternoon against a lacklustre defensive unit.
The visitors are 1/3 favourites and priced at even money to score three times. I'm taking a punt on Haaland to record another hat-trick. I mean, he is due another match ball. It’s the perfect fixture for him to extend his tally for the season. It’s mad that Haaland has scored more goals alone than 10 Premier League teams.
A price of 10/1 seems short for any player to score three in any match. However, Haaland is a proven goalscorer at the highest level. Manchester City can create chances with ease, while Wolves have conceded three goals on average per match this term. Confidence levels will be low as Pep’s men take a visit. Goals are likely, and there’s certainly a chance that the leading scorer can bag a hatful.
