Wolves vs Burnley Odds: Dendoncker to pick up a booking at Molineux

There are six games in the Premier League on Wednesday evening that can all be seen live on Amazon Prime. Wolves host Burnley at Molineux with the game kicking off at 7:30pm and here at BettingOdds.com we’ve provided you with a preview for the game along with some betting tips that can hopefully yield some profit.
Sean Dyche’s Burnley side travel to the Black Country off the back of just one win in their last 15 Premier League matches. Wolves on the other hand have lost just one of their last eight but could only manage a goalless draw away at Norwich last weekend.
Ruben Neves will miss the game through suspension, while Pedro Neto, Jonny and Willy Boly are all absent for the hosts through injury. Both Ashley Westwood and James Tarkowski have picked up five yellows and will not feature here, with Ashley Barnes still out injured and Matej Vydra and Jay Rodriguez doubtful.
Wolves are the odds-on favourites to claim all three points on Wednesday evening, priced at around 17/20 to do so with most firms. Bruno Lage’s side have won their last three home games all by a one goal margin however, Burnley are unbeaten in nine of their last ten in all competitions against Wolves.
Wolves vs Burnley Tips:
For the first selection at Molineux we’ve taken a dive into the ‘to be carded’ market and like the look of Leander Dendoncker to find his way into the book. As mentioned above, Ruben Neves will not feature due to being suspended which should pave the way for Dendoncker to come back into the starting lineup in central midfield.
The Belgian has only started three games so far in the league this season for Wolves and was carded in one of those against Aston Villa. In 2019/2020 he was shown five yellows in 32 starts and followed that up with four in 28 starts in 2020/2021. Dendocker was also booked two weeks ago when coming off the bench for his country against Wales and we fancy him to pick up another against Burnley this week.
A large part of the reasoning behind this selection is that we think that the 26-year-old is massively overpriced at 7/1 with bet365. Other firms such as Betfair and Paddy Power have taken a much more conservative view at 13/5 on him being carded and with this in mind we think the 7/1 has a lot more legs than the 12.5% chance that those odds imply.
We’ve also picked out a longshot for the game priced at 50/1 with bet365 that as well as including the Leander Dendoncker booking at 7/1 includes a Dwight McNeil booking priced at 5/1.
The Burnley man should once again occupy the left-side of the midfield for Burnley and when it comes to positional statistics, 39% of Wolves’ attacks this season have come down the right side of the pitch. This is bigger than the left and central areas and when we look at just home matches this season the 39% increases to 41%. This should hopefully mean that Dwight McNeil is heavily involved in the action on Wednesday with him helping to cover Adama Traore.
Daniel Podence remains sidelined with Covid-19 which should mean that Traore starts ahead of Trincao in a three-pronged attack for the hosts. McNeil has been shown a yellow card in both the league and Carabao Cup already this term and after being shown five in the 2019/2020 season and an average of 0.8 fouls per game this campaign, he looks a reasonable proposition to be carded if having to help cover Adama Traore.
To recap, that's a 7/1 single on Leander Dendoncker to be carded and also a 50/1 bet builder with Dendoncker and McNeil to be carded, both with bet365. Best of luck to anyone following the selections and please always gamble responsibly.
