West Ham vs. Brighton Betting Tips: Back Bowen to score and be carded

West Ham vs Brighton Odds
Three Premier League matches take place on Sunday with West Ham facing Brighton in the capital. Our resident punter @AnthonyEadson has provided us with his thoughts and best bets for the game from the London Stadium.
The Hammers are yet to get off the mark in the top-flight this term after defeats to Manchester City and Nottingham Forest. David Moyes’ men did put three past Viborg in their Europa Conference qualifier on Thursday evening and will be desperate to take that positivity into this game with Brighton and pick up their first domestic points of the campaign.
Brighton on the other hand have had an excellent start to the season after a convincing win away at Manchester United on the opening weekend before a goalless stalemate with Newcastle in Gameweek 2. After losing his star players this summer and still managing to play a fantastic brand of football with his well oiled machine, Graham Potter’s reputation continues to grow and after four points against the Hammers last season, he will be hopeful of not returning to the south coast empty handed.
After his opening goal on Thursday evening which we correctly tipped up here at BettingOdds, there could well be a league start for Gianluca Scamacca ahead of Michail Antonio. Nayef Aguerd is sidelined through injury, while Maxwel Cornet is expected to once again find himself on the bench.
Jakub Moder is the only confirmed absentee for the visitors. New boy Pervis Estupinan could be in line for his first start after his move from Villarreal.
West Ham vs Brighton Tips
I’m using the bet365 Bet Builder feature for both my plays from East London on Sunday, with the first of those being for Jarrod Bowen to have 1+ shot on target and Leandro Trossard to have 1+ shots. Betfair have this double priced at just 1/2, so I’d certainly be recommending using 365 here.
Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane, Sadio Mane, Cristiano Ronaldo and Heung-min Son were the only players to record more shots on target last season than Jarrod Bowen. The former Hull City man registered at least one shot on target in his final nine home league matches in 2021/2022, giving plenty of appeal to the 8/11 on show from bet365 this weekend.
In this even money Bet Builder, I’ll also be including Leandro Trossard to have at least one shot in the match. Looking back at his data from the first two games of this campaign and back into last season, Trossard has recorded 1+ shot in 13 of his last 14 appearances. Furthermore with the potential inclusion of Pervis Estupinan it could lead to Trossard taking up a more advanced attacking position.
At 39/1, I’ll also be having a little tickle on Jarrod Bowen to score and be carded in the match. Bowen picked up six cautions in the league last season, with Declan Rice being the only player to receive more for West Ham. The 25-year-old was also booked in the Europa League and the League Cup in 2021/2022, taking his tally to eight yellows in all competitions. Moreover, in five of those eight matches that Bowen was carded, he also found the net!
If you are the superstitious type, another good omen here is that Anthony Taylor will be the referee in charge. The last time he took control of a West Ham game back in May, he booked Bowen in the same match that he managed to score two goals against Manchester City.
Please gamble responsibly.
