Watford vs. West Brom Betting Tips: Follow Furlong in the Fouls Market

Monday night football on Sky Sports sees Watford take on West Brom at Vicarage Road. We’ve got our man Anthony Eadson on hand with two bets that have caught his eye for the game that can hopefully bring a nice bit of profit to make it a strong start to the week.
Slaven Bilic will face one of his former clubs here, but will know that three points here would be huge as The Hornets look to move towards the play-off places. It’s now five league games without a win for Watford whose most recent result was a 1-1 draw at league leaders Burnley. The away side would have claimed a huge win at Turf Moor if it were not for a 96th minute equaliser from Clarets substitute Michael Obafemi.
West Brom have also not been in great form over the course of the last few weeks with one win in their last four league outings. The Baggies will have their sights set on the play-offs this term with now the perfect time to make an assault on the top-six.
Taking a look at the match result odds for this evening, the bookmakers see this one as a tough one to call, pricing Watford at 13/8 and West Brom at 7/4. The home side have drawn four of their last five in the Championship and can be sided with at 9/4 for a repeat here.
Watford vs West Brom Tips
It’s nice to see Betfair and Paddy Power pricing up the player fouls market for this second-tier clash and our first selection arrives from here in the form of Darnell Furlong to commit 2+ fouls.
The Baggies right-back has given away 10 more fouls than any other West Brom player this season and looking at his last five matches his foul totals read: 2,2,2,0,2.
The key angle here though is that Furlong will be the direct opponent of Watford’s Ismaila Sarr who was the most fouled player in the division in his last full season in the Championship. This term Sarr is drawing 2.1 fouls per game on average and with this in mind, quotes of 10/11 for Furlong to commit 2+ fouls for the fifth time in six games look reasonable.
The other selection we are backing this evening is Hassane Kamara to be carded. At the time of writing Betfair and Paddy Power have 9/2 on offer for the Ivorian to find his way into referee Tim Robinson’s notebook.
Only one player in the Championship has been shown more cards this campaign than Kamara with eight yellows and two reds to his name. Furthermore, the left-back has been shown five yellows and two red cards in just 13 home league games in 2022/2023, giving plenty of weight to the 9/2 on show here.
