Despite a blip which saw them lose four out of five games in a month, Tottenham are firing once again, recording four wins from their last five to sit within just a point of bitter rivals Arsenal in 4th. Vincent Kompany's Burnley could not build on the 2-0 victory earned against Fulham, with Liverpool comfortably swatting them aside on Boxing Day before a wasteful Aston Villa narrowly got the job done with a late Douglas Luiz converted penalty in a 3-2 corker at Villa Park.
The pair played out a seven-goal thriller at Turf Moor early into Burnley's return to the Premier League, but last season's Championship winners haven't swayed from their principles since that result and have paid for it so far. Bet365 have Tottenham as 1/2 favourites for the tie, with Burnley representing a 9/2 shot to have their name in the hat for the fourth round draw. Those interested in a repeat of this fixture can back the draw at 15/4 after 90 minutes.
Tottenham vs Burnley Tips
Burnley's shots leader Zeki Amdouni is the man we're expecting to let fly at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday night. A depleted Spurs side both defensively and offensively are without their first choice centre-back pairing of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, while adding Son Heung-min to the growing absentee list due to participation at the Asian Cup with South Korea. Even without injuries or suspensions, Tottenham have proven ropey at the back, so Kompany will surely be licking his lips at the prospect of attacking a team who've kept just one clean sheet in their last 11 outings amidst these struggles.
The Swiss international has recorded two or more shots on 12 occasions in the Premier League this term, with half of those coming on the road. That includes the two he struck at Villa Park in his most recent appearance before the new year, meaning he's registered at least one shot in every single one of his 19 matches in the English top flight.
Similarly, Dejan Kulusevski has been a reliable source for Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham side when it comes to fouls. The Swedish wide forward has given away the most free kicks of any Spurs or Burnley player with a total of 34 - the second-highest number in the entire division. This accumulated figure has seen him record over 1.5 in nine different matches, including six times across his last eight, committing one foul and being subsequently booked in the 5-2 win at Turf Moor.
That reasoning, coupled with his five bookings being outperformed by only Louis Beyer and Charlie Taylor between the two clubs, means the 6/5 for 2+ is too good to pass up against a Burnley side desperate to build any momentum they can in a bid for survival.
