Three Harry Kane alternatives for Man Utd

Harry Kane’s next club is a topic that is debated every summer and many were expecting this window to be his time to finally make a move away from Spurs, but with the club once again pricing him out of any deals, the betting sites have now priced him at under even-money to once again be playing at Tottenham next season.
Man Utd were as short as 1/2 to sign Kane, however it looks like they won’t play Tottenham’s games when it comes to a potential transfer, meaning they might have to look elsewhere for a new striker.
Who else could they get? Well, we’ve looked at three alternatives for Harry Kane along with their odds to sign with Man Utd this summer.
Rasmus Hojlund
Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund has been consistently linked with Man Utd over the past few months and with United’s lack of a traditional striker, investing in this 20-year-old could be a great move on their behalf.
The striker managed to score 16 goals for the Italian side this season and his scoring doesn’t end just at club level as he has recorded five goals in the four games he has played for the Danish national team.
Fabrizio Romano has mentioned in the past that the striker would be very keen for a move to Old Trafford this summer which would come as no surprise as he would be trading 5th place Serie A side Atalanta for one of the biggest clubs in world football.
Hojlund has proved he’s more than capable and with United’s history of investing in younger prospects, they could find themselves with a future star if they pick up the Dane this summer.
Victor Osimhen
Victor Osimhen has seemingly always had a small link to Man Utd when it comes to transfer rumours and he is the latest striker to be subject to a bunch of rumours linking him to Premier League sides.
Osimhen’s 2022/23 campaign was very impressive, scoring 31 goals in 39 games for Napoli and leading them to winning the Serie A title. Since this impressive campaign, his future in Italy has been called into question as clubs from all around Europe seem to be wanting his services.
The 24-year-old has been linked with Man Utd in the past spanning back to his days at Lille. However, the Nigerian is not going to come cheap. A lot of people seem to forget that Napoli paid €75m for the striker from Lille and since then he has only improved.
There’s no doubt that he’d be a brilliant signing for Man Utd but they’ll have to do some serious negotiating with Napoli to get him at a reasonable price. He’s 4/1 to sign for United this summer but Chelsea are the shortest-priced option at 4/1.
Evan Ferguson
Evan Ferguson was been brilliant for Brighton last season and at just the age of 18-years-old, he looks set for a long time in the Premier League.
It’s hard to look at Evan Ferguson as an alternative to a well-established striker like Harry Kane but given the striker's age and how well he’s settled into the Premier League, he could prove to be exactly what Man Utd need.
He won’t come at a cheap price but he’ll be much more affordable than Harry Kane who is expected to still cost around £100m despite his contract only having one year left on it.
Ferguson has already attracted the attention of Man Utd and Chelsea who are both priced up at 6/1 and 8/1 to sign him this summer. United would be best to get on this deal as early as possible if they want it happen.
