Swansea vs. Rotherham Betting Tips: Back Grimes to be carded in South Wales

Monday Night Football provides a Championship offering this week as Swansea take on Rotherham in South Wales. Here at BettingOdds.com, we’ve provided you with our two best bets for the game.
Swansea are currently eight points adrift of the play-offs in 12th in the second-tier table. Russell Martin’s men have lost four of their last five league matches, with their latest defeat coming in a 3-1 home defeat to Stoke City six days ago.
Rotherham managed their first win in six league matches with a 2-1 home victory over Sunderland last Tuesday. Those three points leave The Millers, five points clear of the drop zone, with now just 13 matches remaining in the Championship season.
Swansea vs Rotherham Tips
The first of our two tips on Monday arrives from the player fouls market and features two players to commit a foul, with the first of those being Oliver Rathbone of Rotherham. Most betting sites have the midfielder as the shortest priced across both teams when it comes to picking up a card this evening, which tells you a lot about Rathbone’s game.
In his last 10 league appearances, the 26-year-old who was played up-front in his last outing, has committed 2+ fouls on seven occasions, and we fancy him to give away one or more on this trip to South Wales.
Combining Rathbone to commit 1+ foul with Swansa’s Ryan Manning to commit 1+ fouls takes us up to the even money (2.0) mark thanks to Paddy Power’s Bet Builder feature.
Manning has featured predominantly on the left-side of midfield this campaign which means he should have to help deal with Rotherham’s most fouled player Chiedoze Ogbene who is drawing 2.2 fouls per game on average. Manning has given away 1+ foul in 13 of his last 16 league starts for the Swans and can hopefully manage another to bring home our main bet here.
We will also be hoping that referee Gavin Ward isn’t feeling stingy with his cards at the Swansea.com Stadium and have placed some loose change on Matt Grimes to find his way into the book.
Both bet365 and William Hill go 9/2 for Grimes to pick up a card, with only Jay Fulton having been shown more for Russell Martin’s side in 2022/2023. In total Grimes has been shown seven yellows this season, and when looking at his disciplinary record in home matches we can see he has collected four yellows in just 15 matches. With this in mind, quotes of 9/2 look reasonable.
