Stoke vs. Blackburn Betting Tips: Best bets for Friday Night Football from the Championship

Friday Night Football is live from the bet365 Stadium this week as Stoke take on Blackburn in the Championship. After a profitable preview last Saturday when Rovers saw off Sheffield United 1-0, we’ve again called upon our own East Lancashire lad Anthony Eadson to provide us with his best bets for the game.
Stoke are currently 12 points off the play-offs and 11 points clear of the relegation zone, and despite a 5-1 win over Sunderland last week, The Potters look destined for a mid-table finish. Stoke have failed to score in three of their five home league matches in 2023, with their only wins arriving against strugglers Huddersfield and Reading.
Whisper it quietly, but Blackburn Rovers are going quite well at the moment and have put in their most impressive displays of the campaign in recent weeks. Rovers have played attacking, fast flowing football and now find themselves 11 games unbeaten in all competitions, fourth in the Championship and through to the FA Cup quarter-finals.
Stoke vs Blackburn Tips
Last Saturday our main play on the Blackburn match involved Tyrhys Dolan giving away 1+ fouls and I’m doing so again this week, but adding in 2+ shots, which takes the Bet Builder double to a very backable 6/4.
This bet has landed in all of the 21-year-old’s last four matches, with him growing in confidence game-by-game and undoubtedly putting in his best performances in a blue and white shirt. Dolan has scored in two of his last four and hit the bar last week against The Blades, his shot totals in that period read 3,2,4,3.
The Rovers attacker is also a bit of a menace and loves to not only draw fouls, but often give them away with his press that he often applies. In all of his last seven starts, Dolan has committed a foul or more and combining that with the 2+ shots pays 6/4 here.
Another player who has impressed for Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side in recent weeks is Sorba Thomas. The Welsh wizard has shown his worth at both ends of the pitch since his arrival, putting in some excellent crosses, as well as showing a great work ethic with his tracking back and defensive work.
At 11/4 Sorba Thomas looks overpriced for a shot on target at Stoke for a player starting a front-three. He has done so in two of his seven appearances so far for Rovers getting off shots in five of them. Pairing this with him to commit a foul takes us up to just bigger than 4/1 with Paddy Power. Thomas was shown 10 yellow cards for Huddersfield last season and already has collected two under his new employers.
This bet has landed twice in Thomas’s seven games for Blackburn and at 4/1, we think this looks a nice prospect to yield some profit again on Friday.
