Serie A Winner Odds 22/23: Inter Milan favourites but can Roma spring a surprise?
Serie A returns this weekend as AC Milan prepare to defend the crown they won under Stefano Pioli last season.
After three different Scudetto victors in the last three seasons, fans can look forward to what promises to be another exciting title battle, which is likely to feature the Milan duo and Juventus, although a rejuvenated Roma could spring a surprise or two.
Below we take a look at the latest title odds, plus the tussle for a top-4 finish and the top goalscorer market, as the returning Romelu Lukaku sets his sights on the Capocannoniere. But could a certain Englishman stand in his way?

Who will win Serie A?
After nearly a decade of Juventus dominance, it’s the Milan-based duo who have tasted Serie A glory in the last two seasons. The most recent of which was AC Milan who fended off city rivals and defending champions Inter last term to win their first Scudetto in 11 years.
Now the hunters become the hunted. AC Milan are priced slightly bigger than I was expecting out at 4/1 to defend their title, behind both Inter and Juventus. The Rossoneri will be without the excellent Franck Kessie (Barcelona), but there’s an air of excitement around new signing Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge, while they have added another attacking option in Divock Origi.
2020/21 victors Inter, who missed out last season by just two points, have been installed as the 15/8 favourites to regain Italy’s top gong. They do look the pick of the trio. Not only have they been extremely consistent over the last three years - finishing 2nd, 1st and 2nd - but goal-machine Romelu Lukaku is back leading the line and ready to run riot once again. His partnership with Lautaro Martínez will be key to Inter’s title hopes.
After consecutive 4th-place finishes, Juventus will be hungry to launch a serious title challenge. Bookmakers have handed Max Allegri’s side odds of 21/10, which is a bit short for my liking given the amount of squad changes. After returning last summer, the six-time Serie A winner will be expected to get his side firing this time around but with some many high-profile exits - Matthijs de Ligt, Paulo Dybala, Federico Bernardeschi, and Giorgio Chiellini - Juventus may take time to hit their stride. Paul Pogba has returned - albeit he’s injured - Ángel Di Maria arrives from PSG, and Gleison Bremer has big shoes to fill in defence.

Back Roma to finish in the top-4
With the above three teams hogging the spotlight in the title betting, Jose Mourinho’s Roma could attract some attention at 17/2, while they are available at 10/11 to finish in the top-4 for the first time in five seasons.
Roma finished some distance off the Champions League spots last season but got their hands on the inaugural Europa Conference League, which has boosted confidence and belief that Jose Mourinho can take his side to the next level this season. Paulo Dybala and Georginio Wijnaldum are two smart additions, while Tammy Abraham is expected to get even better after a superb debut season.
The hunt for the Champions League spots promises to be an exciting one, with Napoli (9/5), Atalanta (23/10), Lazio (6/1), and Fiorentina (12/1) all worth monitoring. Of the four, Atalanta could appeal. After a hat-trick of 3rd-place finishes they slipped to a disappointing 8th last time out but boss Gian Piero Gasperini isn’t afraid to take a risk or two and could well look to some exciting academy players in a bid to freshen things up.

Returning Romelu Lukaku the pick for Top Goalscorer?
After switching Man Utd for Inter Milan in 2019, Romelu Lukaku had a point to prove. He did so in superb style, accumulating 23 league goals in his first season, before adding 24 in his next which helped propel Inter to the title. This earned him a mega-money move to Chelsea, but after a disappointing season, he’s back at Inter (on loan) with another point to prove.
Lukaku will once again team up with the excellent Lautaro Martínez, and it’s difficult to look past him right now at 7/2 (William Hill) in the top goalscorer odds. He's also 5/1 (bet365) to score 25 or more, and just over 11/1 (William Hill) to be top goalscorer and Inter to win the title.
Speaking of Martinez, he’s scored 17 and 21 Serie A goals respectively in the last two seasons and is 9/1 to top the charts this time around, although Lukaku’s main competition will surely come from Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic (10/3) - 24 goals last season - and last season’s Capocannoniere winner Ciro Immobile (27 goals) who is 9/2 to defend his crowd.
Tammy Abraham looks a juicy price at 20/1 (each way, four places). The English striker thrived under Jose Mourinho in his first season at Roma, bagging 17 league goals and 27 in all competitions. He’s only going to improve and will no doubt have more opportunities for goals given that Roma have added Paulo Dybala to their ranks.
