Saturday Football Tips: Kane can contribute to our 10/1 Premier League acca

The Premier League returns this weekend, and after Arsenal visit Crystal Palace in the opening fixture on Friday, we then move on to Saturday's six-game slate. Fulham vs Liverpool and Everton vs Chelsea are the two televised matches, and we’ve tasked our man @AnthonyEadson to provide us with an accumulator that he likes the look of for the top tier action.
This week he’s put together a 4-fold that he fancies with Paddy Power, which at the time of writing pays 10/1, and can be added directly to your betslip by clicking the link below. It’s also worth noting that this weekend, Paddy Power are giving all customers a free £5 bet to use on the Bet Builder market for any Premier League game. Happy punting!
Acca Tips
It’s great to be back for a new top-flight season and I’ve been scouring the markets in search of a few selections that look like a nice bit of value for the opening weekend. I’m kicking off this quartet with a pick from the early-kick off between Fulham and Liverpool at Craven Cottage.
The more I look at the Premier League winner market, the more I don’t think that Liverpool should be double the price of Manchester City. I’m expecting the Reds to get off to a strong start in the capital and I've opted for Trent Alexander-Arnold to have 2+ shots in the match. Available at even money (1/1) with Betfair and Paddy Power or slightly longer at 11/10 with BetVictor, for those playing the single.
Joao Cancelo was the only defender in the division to manage more shots than Trent last season who let off 51 attempts on goal. The attacking-minded right-back cleared this line of 2+ shots in 17 of his 32 starts last season (53%), which does give appeal to quotes of even money which imply a 50% chance of this bet landing. However, more importantly, Trent Alexander-Arnold managed 2+ shots in all five of his matches against newly promoted teams last season and I expect him to do so against Fulham on Saturday lunchtime.
Next up we are off to the South Coast, where I’m backing Aston Villa to start their season with a win over Bournemouth. The Cherries are the favourites with the bookmakers to be relegated this season and I have to say, I fully agree. Some rather worrying comments have come from Scott Parker in the last week such as “We are lacking in a lot of areas” and “Staying in the Premier League would be a big ask”.
Furthermore, Bournemouth also have issues in defence, with Chris Mepham, who only started two games last season, set to start as part of a back-four. Villa on the other hand look raring to go and with Ollie Watkins, Philippe Coutinho and Leon Bailey in attack, they can cause the hosts serious problems. The latter of that attacking trio has been putting in some really strong performances in pre-season with manager Steven Gerrard quoted saying “He’s making it impossible for me to leave him out the side”. I’ve not been impressed with Bournemouth in the transfer window at all this summer and all things considered, I’m happy to side with Villa taking three points back to Birmingham.
Another of the 3pm kick-offs sees Southampton travel to the capital to take on Tottenham. Antonio Conte’s side are predicted to go well this term and are third favorites with the bookmakers to win the title after some smart signings this summer, particularly in the form of Yves Bissouma, Richarlison and Ivan Perisic.
Spurs were unbeaten in the final six games of last season, winning eight of their last 11 to secure a Champions League place from their North London rivals Arsenal. Harry Kane was in excellent form at the back end of the 2021/2022 campaign recording shot figures of 7, 6, 9, 1, 4, 4, in his final six matches. Kane registered a goal or an assist in four of his last five matches last term, with the only exception being against Liverpool. I’m expecting Spurs to knock three or four past Saints on Saturday and taking Kane to have an assist or get on the scoresheet at 1/2, looks a wise play for this 4-fold.
Rounding off this four-pronged-punt is Pedro Neto to have 1+ shot on target. Bruno Lage takes the Old Gold up to Elland Road on the opening weekend and with his main striker Raul Jimenez out injured, I’m expecting Neto to step up and lead the charge as the main man in attack for Wolves.
Pedro Neto only started five top-flight matches last season after picking up a serious knee injury in April 2021, that kept him out for the best part of a year. The 22-year-old had scored five goals and averaged two shots per game in 2020/2021 before his unfortunate injury, and I’m expecting him to return with a bang this term. Even with limited game time last season, Neto still averaged 0.8 shots on target per 90 minutes and with other bookmakers such as bet365 and BetVictor pricing this same selection at 1/2, I’m more than happy to take the 5/6 on offer with Paddys.
To recap, that's a four-fold at 10/1, consisting of Trent to have 2+ shots, Aston Villa to win, Harry Kane to score or assists, as well as Pedro Neto to have a shot on target. Best of luck to anyone following, please gamble responsibly.
