Saturday Football Tips: Back Fernandes to be carded in our 116/1 trxie

There’s an exciting slate of fixtures in the Premier League on Saturday with Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool all featuring in 3pm kick-offs. Here at BettingOdds.com we’ve asked @AnthonyEadson for his best accumulator tips and he’s picked out three selections he likes the look of. The treble pays best with bet365 116/1 although he’s recommending playing the trixie, meaning it will be profit if two of the three land.

The first selection in this trio of players to find their way into the book on Saturday is Bruno Fernandes, whose Manchester United side travel to the south coast to take on Southampton in the early kick-off.
United arrive here rejuvenated after their 2-1 win at home to Liverpool on Monday evening, after being priced at 5/1 to win the game pre-match. Bruno Fernandes was carded for diving in that game and also showed some of his usual petty antics when keeping onto the ball after Liverpool had scored. To put it bluntly, Fernandes gets on many referees' nerves. From moaning, diving, to blatant petulance, I feel Fernandes is constantly walking a tightrope in forcing referees into carding him. Only three players in the entire division picked up more yellow cards than Fernandes last season, with 10. He’s already had two in three league matches this term and I’m therefore really surprised to see a generous looking 5/1 on offer to be carded at Southampton making this single one of my best bets this weekend.
Moving onto the 3pm kick-offs and Everton travel to the capital to take on Brentford. The player I’m targeting in this game is Mason Holgate, who’s no stranger to a booking after seven yellows and a red last season. Five of those seven yellow cards for Holgate last season came away from Goodison Park, in just 13 appearances, giving appeal to 10/3 on offer for a card on Saturday.

Looking back at the season prior (2020/2021), Holgate was Everton’s most carded player with nine yellows. Eight of those came away from home that season making it 13 cautions in his last 27 away top-flight matches. Ivan Toney could well be up against Holgate this weekend and was the second most fouled player in the division in the 2021/2022 campaign, which could also bolster our chances of this selection landing at the Brentford Community Stadium.
Rounding off the three picks is Adam Smith of Bournemouth to be shown a card. Available at 7/2 as a single, Smith will be in for a long afternoon as his side travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool. I’m expecting a reaction performance from Jurgen Klopp’s side after the disappointment of Monday and Luis Diaz is a player I’m predicting to shine on Saturday.
The Colombian will be the direct opponent of Adam Smith, who has been shown a yellow card in three of his Premier League appearances so far this season. Furthermore, looking at the direct opponents of Luis Diaz so far this term and Diogo Dalot (RB), Kenny Tete (RB) and Joel Ward (RCB) have all been brandished bookings!
