Royal Ascot Festival 2023 Day 2 Tips: Jimi Hendrix could supply a surprise hit in day 2 selections

With day one of Royal Ascot under her belt, Izzy looks to the second day of racing at the festival, starting with a selection for the Kensington Palace Fillies' Handicap.
15:05 Kensington Palace Fillies' Handicap
Selection: Tarrabb
She perhaps needed the run on her seasonal reappearance at Chelmsford but there’s a lot to like about her form last year. She’s a course and distance winner and also managed to beat a good rival in Queen Animatu at Haydock last summer. The trainer form only bolsters her chances with Owen Burrows seeming to be pulling his punches wisely as he’s operating at a 38% strike rate with 3 out of 8 winners over the last 14 days. An exciting jockey booking with William Buick also.
15:40 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes (Fillies' & Mares' Group 2)
Selection: Prosperous Voyage
Prosperous Voyage made easy work of her rivals in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom in her most recent start; that is without mentioning her impressive win and upset in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket. 1 mile appears to bring out the best in her and I think she could continue on her winning ways in this.
16:20 Prince Of Wales's Stakes (Group 1) (British Champions Series)
Selection: Adayar
There’s a rematch here between Bay Bridge and Adayar from when they last met at Ascot in October. Since then Adayar won easily enough at Newmarket on his seasonal reappearance. He’s a proven class horse with a Derby win under his belt - he won't go down without a fight here.
17:00 Royal Hunt Cup (Heritage Handicap)
Selection: Jimi Hendrix E/W
Jimi Hendrix can be hit and miss but there are enough good hits (no pun intended) for him to be a great each way chance here. He’s got form in most goings so the ground should be of no concern. He’s also run well in a big field handicap at the Royal meeting having previously been 3rd in the Britannia last year.
