The Mrs Paddy Power Mares' Chase over 2m 4f is the championship race for mares over fences and has grown into one of the most anticipated races of the Festival. With only six runners in the 2026 renewal, this is a race where the form is concentrated and the betting market is tight — but that does not mean there is no value to be found

The Market

Dinoblue is the clear market leader at 15/8 and has been one of the most impressive mares over fences in training this season. Her jumping has been exceptional — clean, accurate, and economical — and she has the class to win a Grade 2 race like this. The question is whether the 15/8 represents value given the strength of the opposition.

Panic Attack at 5/2 is the most dangerous rival. She has been placed in Grade 1 company this season and has the profile of a mare who could step up significantly on her previous best at the Festival. The 5/2 looks fair given her form, but she will need to produce a career- best to beat Dinoblue.

Spindleberry at 9/2 is the each-way pick of the race. She has been progressive all season and arrives having won her last start in Grade 2 company. The step up to Grade 2 Festival level is a significant ask, but her trainer has a strong record at Cheltenham and she has the profile of a mare who could surprise.

The Each-Way Case

With only three places on offer at 1/5 odds, the each-way terms are tighter than in the handicap races. However, Only By Night at 13/2 and Diva Luna at 15/2 are both mares with the ability to run into the places. Only By Night in particular has been running consistently well all season and could outperform her odds.
