Rangers vs. Real Betis Betting Tips: Back Over 2.5 Goals at Ibrox
Rangers face Real Betis in the Europa League on Thursday. Have a read below of Jimmy The Punt's preview of the game and his best bets that he has sided with.
These two sides started their respective campaigns have been subpar.
Rangers have won three and lost two beating St Johnstone 2-0 at the weekend. It means they are four points off the pace in the Premiership and now comfortable second favourites to win the league. The Scottish side were well beaten in their Champions League qualifier against PSV with the Dutch side winning 5-0 in Holland.
Five games into the La liga campaign and Real Betis sit in 10th. They were thumped 5-0 by Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Saturday meaning they have won and lost two games and drew the other.
The hosts will be without Todd Cantwell here, the central midfielder is ruled out with a knee injury. Steven Davis and Kieran Dowell are also unavailable. Micheal Beale should opt for Abdallah Sima upfront.
The visitors are without Nabil Fekir, Claudio Bravo and William Carvalho. With no fresh injury concerns from the weekend though Manuel Pellegrini could name an unchanged XI.
Rangers vs Real Betis Tips
Rangers have flattered to deceive in Scotland and Betis come into this clash fresh of a thumping. It looks a fairly even match up, and is priced that way, so, goals appeal here.
Barring the 1-0 defeats against Celtic, the Gers have only failed to find the net once this campaign, away at Kilmarnock, 92% of their games. It is also worth noting that they have conceded in 64% of their 14 fixtures.
During their last Europa League campaign, when they reached the final, both teams to score clicked on eight occasions and over 2.5 goals landed in six games.
Over 2.5 goals has paid out in five of Betis seven games this campaign, they have conceded two or more goals in three games but scored at least two on four occasions.
James Tavenier’s price to be shown a card certainly divides opinion across the different bookmakers. The full back is as short as 2/1 in places which is the biggest reason why this bet bet appeals on Thursday.
He is not the most prolific when it comes to cards, 15 since the start of last season domestically and five on the continent.
Tavenier should be opposing Ayoze Perez here though, a player who has drawn nine fouls in La Liga this season.
Best of luck if you are backing any of these selections and please remember to gamble responsibly.
