Raheem Sterling Next Club Odds: Chelsea head the betting as forward's next destination

Raheem Sterling has enjoyed a 10-year senior career across two different clubs in the north of England, but could the international forward be about to switch Manchester for a different shade of blue? Or could the 27-year-old become only the 11th Englishman to feature in La Liga?
Ahead of the September 3rd transfer window close, we've looked at the Jamaican-born's top prospects when it comes to life after Man City, weighing up the viability of each move and providing the odds, courtesy of Paddy Power's market.
No move - 2/9
The market suggests Raheem is most likely to be right where he is now come September 3rd. Between Pep Guardiola's admiration for the player and his eagerness towards rotation options for a multi-competition run, it'll require a remarkable offer to prize him away.
Saying that, the arrival of Erling Haaland means City now have an accomplished striker among their ranks, meaning Sterling's chances of regular game time may just have shortened significantly.
Chelsea - 9/4
Should he decide to leave the Etihad, a return to his former stomping ground - roughly seven miles away in Fulham - at Stamford Bridge poses an interesting switch. At 9/4, the move is given a 30% chance of happening.
The Blues are the 9/4 favourites right now, and certainly fit the bill for how Sterling's career trajectory has gone so far. Thomas Tuchel's side endured a frustrating season last time out and a marquee signing like this one would present a real statement of intent for the forthcoming campaign.
The attacker finished as City's second-highest goalscorer in the Premier League last term with 13 goals - second to only Kevin de Bruyne - and two more than Chelsea's highest in Mason Mount, despite four fewer starts and making five fewer appearances.
Meanwhile, the futures of Romelu Lukaku and Tammy Abraham in London make a potential switch all the more appealing for the Sterling camp.
Real Madrid - 10/1
If the 27-year-old prefers a new challenge - one that involves trading the wet, miserable UK for a warm, sunny Spain - then Real Madrid could be the place.
Under Carlo Ancelotti, Madrid reclaimed their La Liga title and were crowned European champions after a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in Paris.
There are some promising youth prospects providing a nice balance to the existing seasoned pros already in that squad, making it an exciting time for Los Blancos.
After missing out on two behemoth signings in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland this summer, Raheem's signing could give them the extra firepower they're clearly keen on adding.
Real are a 10/1 shot to be his next destination at the moment; one of two teams inside this odds range.
Tottenham - 12/1
The other are Antonio Conte's Spurs, who are all the talk when it comes to the summer transfer window. Tottenham have added four recruits as of yet, with countless others circulating the rumour mills.
After surprising most with their top four finish last term, the North London side are adamant on picking up from where they left off. With the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Gabriel Jesus and the return of Christian Eriksen all linked, there may be some truth to the idea that they aren't entirely satisfied with their attacking options just yet.
Sterling's versatility to play anywhere across the front three positions could be a useful addition to Conte's toolbox. At the time of writing, Spurs are 12/1 in the market.
Barcelona - 25/1
Last but not least is Barcelona. Although the likelihood of any transfer - not to mention one as costly as a deal for Raheem Sterling would prove to be - rests on the financial transparency of the La Liga club, that hasn't stopped several players being linked with a move to the Nou Camp.
Robert Lewandowski has been the prominent name to feature in this department, but not much movement has appeared on this front.
You sense a player of Sterling's calibre needs a fresh purpose at this stage and the rebuild undergoing at Barca could well be the perfect project for him.
25/1 is where they currently sit in the market, which implies just under a 4% probability of the transfer happening.
Other possible destinations for him include another club at this price in the form of Arsenal. Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid then round out the betting at 33/1 and 40/1 respectively.
