QPR vs. Luton Town Betting Tips: Hoops and Hatters to share the points on Thursday

Queens Park Rangers and Luton Town clash in the early Championship kick-off at 6pm on Thursday night and both will hold play-off aspirations this season, so will be desperate for three points. Here at BettingOdds.com we preview the contest from Loftus Road and pick out our two best bets...
Astonishingly, only three points splits fifth placed Norwich City and 16th placed Swansea City in the Championship table and both QPR and Luton sit in that congested area of the league with Rangers currently outside of the play-off zone on goal difference in seventh spot, while Luton are two points behind in 13th place. With home advantage it's no surprise to see QPR installed the 5/4 favourites with bet365, while a victory for Luton in 90 minutes is available at 12/5 with the same firm, with the draw available at 9/4.
Neil Critchley's QPR side hit a flat spot a few weeks ago when losing three on the spin, but they bounced back to form with a workmanlike 1-0 win over Preston two games ago, while a Boxing Day draw against Cardiff City saw them grab another point to stop the rot. Luton themselves had only notched one win in six, but a 2-1 success over Norwich City saw them get back in track, so they will head into the event in good spirits and will fancy getting something on their travels on Thursday night.

When looking to find our first selection for the match it's hard to split the pair and with QPR having lost three of their last four on home soil and Luton losing three of their last four away it could be wise to stick with the draw, which is available at 9/4 with bet365 bookmakers. Both sides will look to end 2022 strong and try and push themselves into the play-off spots, but they could easily cancel each other out, so the draw looks the solid option.

Carlton Morris to score first goal
Lyndon Dykes is likely to lead the line for QPR and the Scottish international is the 6/1 market leader in the betting to hit the back of the net first, but the eye-catching price in that market is for Luton's Carlton Morris, who is a very attractive 15/2 with bet365 to score the first goal of the game.
The Hatters top scorer has already netted eight Championship goals this season, so has been one of the form number nines in the division, but having failed to score in six matches his price has been eased by the bookmakers accordingly for Thursday's game. The 27-year-old has blossomed at Luton since a transfer from Barnsley and he could well put Rob Edwards' side in front before the hosts draw level later in the game.
