PSV vs Liverpool Prediction, Lineups and Odds: Can much-changed Liverpool win the league phase?

Liverpool head into tonight's game away to PSV needing just a point to secure top spot in the new Champions League group stages, having already qualified automatically in the top eight with seven wins from seven.
The Reds will be without a multitude of their star players, including Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, but are the narrow favourites to end this stage of the competition with a perfect return of eight wins from eight.
Matthew O’Regan brings us his best bets in Eindhoven as he looks to build on both of Saturday’s winners.
PSV vs Liverpool Predictions
When legendary manager Jurgen Klopp announced his departure, there was a huge void left in the Liverpool dugout. However, Arne Slot has slotted in seamlessly as his side continues their relentless pursuit of an unprecedented quadruple.
A comfortable 4-1 win over Ipswich on the weekend maintained the healthy six-point gap (with a game in hand) they have over the chasing pack in the Premier League. Domestically, Anfield awaits a depleted Tottenham next week in the second leg of the EFL Cup Semi-Final, while the Reds travel to Championship basement boys Plymouth Argyle in the next round of the FA Cup.
On the continent, Liverpool have been relentless, too. They are the only side in the tournament to have won all seven games – easily securing their passage into the next phase. This means Slot has the rare opportunity to rotate his squad ahead of a busy, crunch period that sees his side play five games in the first 16 days of February.
PSV have done all but enough to progress from the league phase but need at least a point to mathematically secure their progress. Lampen have a handful of absentees for this match with Ryan Flamingo suspended after his red card against FK Crvena Zvezda, while Adamo Nagalo, Malik Tillman and Sergino Dest remain injured. Liverpool will be without Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota and Joe Gomez after the trio suffered minor injuries in recent weeks.
PSV defeated NAC Breda 3-2 in their last league outing, extending their gap at the top of the Eredivisie to four points over Ajax. Peter Bosz’s sides have a remarkable run of form at home, suffering just one defeat in their last 53 games at the Philips Stadion (44 wins and eight draws). This includes a ten-game unbeaten run in European competitions, including wins against Shakhtar (3-2) and Girona (4-0) this season, as well as a 1-1 draw with Sporting.
In the league, Bosz’s side have dropped just one point at home, scoring 37 goals in ten games in the process. They will look to channel this amazing home form as they welcome the competition favourites to the Netherlands on Wednesday night.
Liverpool have taken 21 points from a possible 21 so far, so at a glance, it seems ludicrous to back against them in any capacity. However, The Reds have already comfortably secured their passage into the next round and a heavily rotated side is expected to show up at the Netherlands. With PSV’s momentum gathering by the day, they should take at least a point against a second-string Liverpool side.

Guus Til has become a mainstay in the PSV side since signing from Feyenoord in 2022. The 27-year-old has 10 goals and seven assists this season, including a brace in the last game against NAC Breda and an assist in the last Champions League game against FK Crvena Zvezda.
Capable of playing deep, Til is however more comfortable in the ‘ten’ role, where he has excelled in a PSV shirt. Til has averaged 2.82 shots per 90 this season, having at least two shots in his last five starts – registering 16 shots in this time. If PSV are to gain a point against the competition stands out side, the 27-year-old will be instrumental.
