PSV vs Dortmund Tips
PSV target man Luuk de Jong has struck 27 times in 34 games this season, which regardless of the perceived notion about the Eredivisie, remains an impressive tally.
The Dutchman has seven in nine in this competition when including qualifying fixtures, scoring three at home during PSV's two qualifiers in Eindhoven, plus a further two in UCL group stage matches played at the Philips Stadion.
Carrying nine goals in his last seven appearances, this might be a short price for an anytime goalscorer but the system and style of play that Peter Bosz has implemented suits his sole striker down to a tee.
Guus Til is expected to be absent from the PSV midfield, and Armel Bella-Kotchap, on loan from Southampton, is still regaining full fitness following a shoulder injury and has not yet returned to action.
The away team will travel to the Netherlands without the injured trio of Ramy Bensebaini, Karim Adeyemi, and Felix Nmecha. Additionally, Sebastien Haller's availability is uncertain as he is undergoing assessment following an ankle injury sustained at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Similarly, Donyell Malen will have a spotlight placed on him during Tuesday's encounter. Malen scored 55 goals in 116 appearances for PSV and reenters his old stomping ground for the first time since switching the Netherlands for Germany.
Averaging almost a goal every two games for Dortmund this term leaves the 25-year-old in good stead, who has struck four times in his last four matches.
The BVB forward has also been shown four cards across all competitions, entering the referee's book in each of his last three matches.
Having landed twice this season already, including in his last outing, the added bite involved with facing a former employer make this a huge price worth having a small dabble on.
