One of the most highly anticipated Champions League knockout stage matches is about to get underway, as PSG host Liverpool at the Parc des Princes at 8pm, live on TNT Sports 1.

PSG vs Liverpool Predictions
With both sides all but confirmed as domestic title winners, this Champions League campaign could be the difference between a great season and a legendary season for PSG and Liverpool as both sides will harbour ambitions of continental success.
Liverpool, WHO are no strangers to winning this competition having won it six times and having topped the league phase, will fancy their chances of adding a seventh.
PSG meanwhile, have made no secret of their desire to rule Europe for the first time and will be desperate to reach a second final since 2020 as a minimum.
At 32 years old and with his contract inexplicably being allowed to run down, Mo Salah is having the best season of his career, spearheading Liverpool’s assault for multiple trophies. Whilst he’s been excellent going forwards, Arne Slot has also given him more defensive responsibilities and his off the ball work rate has increased, leading to an uptick in his fouls and tackles this season.
Salah has now committed 0.63 fouls per 90 across all competitions, with at least one foul in six of his last eleven matches. In the Champions League, he’s made four fouls in his last four appearances with three of those coming against strong opposition in Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen.
Opposing the Egyptian will be Nuno Mendes and the Portuguese full backs’ 1.28 fouls drawn per drawn in home games suggests he’s adept at drawing mistimed challenges. In his last eight Champions League games, he’s drawn 10 fouls and so Salah’s pressing may well result in a foul.
There are slightly better odds for this bet available with Bet365 offering even money, however, the added safety net of Paddy Power’s Super-Sub offer gives us some security in the unlikely event that Salah is withdrawn.

In recent weeks, due to the success of Dembele and Barcola on the wings, Desire Doue has been moved deeper to a central midfield role. In that time, as you’d expect, his defensive involvements have significantly risen. In four starts in this role, he’s averaged 4.36 tackles per 90, managing totals of four, three and seven in his last three games. He’s also made five fouls across those matches, again all coming in his last three.
One of my favourite angles to bet on all season has been central midfield tackles against Liverpool where Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis MacAllister and Ryan Gravenberch are being dispossessed plenty of times. Across Liverpool’s last 15 matches in all competitions, opposition central midfielders have made a massive 82 tackles which works out at an average of 1.95 per player and so Doue’s deeper role and his recent numbers make him a prime candidate to add to that tally.
On the fouls front, the Liverpool midfield trio draw an average of 3.41 fouls per 90 between them and so Doue will have plenty of opportunities to attract the attention of the referee. Across the aforementioned last 15 Liverpool games, 32 opposition central midfielders have made at least one foul, with 12 of those making two or more to boot.
We have a player in a new, more defensive role, against a side who draw tonnes of tackles and fouls in the middle of the park and so he looks a lovely price to get stuck in.
