Premier League Winner Odds 22/23: Arsenal Odds-On Favourites to Lift First League Title Since 2004

After a 2-0 win at Spurs in the North London derby on Sunday, Arsenal are now the odds-on favourites to lift the Premier League title.
BettingOdds looks at the latest betting movements in the title race...
Arsenal - 5/6
It’s 18 years since the last time Arsenal were favourites in the betting to win the league when Shayne Ward was at number one in the UK charts with That’s My Goal.
After their win against rivals Tottenham on Sunday, Mikel Arteta’s side have now opened up an eight point gap at the top of the table, after collecting a staggering 47 points from their first 18 matches.
This is Arsenal’s best ever start to a Premier League campaign and if they carry on at this rate, they would finish on just under 100 points. The way Mikel Arteta has got this side implementing his instructions has been truly remarkable with players such as Thomas Partey, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka showing the best form of their careers.
The current odds of 5/6 with bet365 imply a 55% chance that The Gunners will go on to lift their first Premier League title since 2004, but with Manchester United next up and two fixtures against Manchester City still to come, this race is far from over.
Manchester City - 11/8
After the arrival of Erling Haaland in the Summer, many punters thought that Manchester City would run away with the Premier League this year. The Norwegian goal-bot may have scored 21 goals in just 17 appearances but his City side have now won on just two of their last five league outings.
City were also dumped out of the Carabao Cup last week and after a 2-1 defeat in the Manchester derby to their local rivals, bookmakers have pushed City out to 11/8 in the betting.
Pep Guardiola’s side are the top-scorers in the division and still have the potential to go on a ridiculous run of victories as they have shown in previous campaigns. The first time they play Arsenal is at the Emirates on February 15th, but before that the pair will meet in the FA Cup fourth round at the end of January.

Manchester United - 12/1
Whisper it quietly, but Manchester United could well be in the title race. Erik ten Hag’s side have been quietly going about their business in recent weeks, but unleashed a strong showing in front of their own fans despite a dubious VAR decision that led to Bruno Fernandes’ goal in the 2-1 win in the Manchester derby.
That victory puts United just a point behind their noisy neighbours, and with a trip to Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening, they could temporarily go above City before their meeting with Spurs on Thursday.
Bookmakers have now cut United to as short as 12/1 to lift their first league title since 2013 after they hit a high of 319/1 on the Betfair Exchange a couple of months ago!
Newcastle United - 33/1
Cast your minds back 12 months and Newcastle were 19th in the Premier League table with just 12 points after 20 games. The Magpies are 26 points better off having played two games fewer on the same date in 2023 showing the magnitude of the job Eddie Howe has done in the North East.
There is no denying Newcastle are ahead of schedule in terms of their long-term objectives, and they have lost just one league match so far this campaign. Howe’s men also possess the best defensive record in the league having conceded just 11 goals in 19 matches.
33/1 is the price currently on show for Newcastle to do the unthinkable and lift the trophy in May. It may seem a longshot and a little too early, but with a very winnable next three fixtures against Crystal Palace, West Ham and Bournemouth, that price of 33/1 may well shorten in the weeks ahead.
