Premier League Season Preview: CM Value provides his best ante-post tips for 2021/22

City clear favourites and rightly so but for a team currently without an out an out striker I still believe it gives the possibility for other sides to have a slight chance.
The signing of Jadon Sancho for Man United is a huge one! United have missed that high quality right winger now for the best part of a decade and with the young star setting the Bundesliga alight he could well do so here. For me the greater signing however is Varane. A player with huge European pedigree and with all his experience and class he will most definitely improve the United defence. So at 8/1 yes it’s wishful thinking but I’ll have a go at that.
By far United’s top performer and the stats the Portuguese midfielder has been hitting since arriving at the club are up there with the very best in Europe. It takes a certain type of player to win 4 player of the month awards in a row which is why I am backing Bruno Fernandes to be player of the season.
Furthermore, with United improving in their squad with the signing of Jadon Sancho being added, Fernandes will have that extra bit of high quality around him to show off more of his attacking abilities and if United are to win the title he will most definitely be the reason why.
The Liverpool attacker will probably fall short to Mo Salah's numbers in truth but when the Portuguese live wire has started he has been amongst the goals. He had 9 goals in just 12 league starts last season and would have certainly hit more if it wasn’t for injury issues. He will be up there for goals and with bet365 offering up to 4 places I believe it is real value when the next best price is 16/1!
I saw a stat in March which had Southampton in the bottom 3 without Ings. Now it's possible someone else may have stepped up. But Hassenhuttl frustratedly spoken last season about the struggle his side had winning games without Ings in the side. Whoever they sign won’t be as prolific as the Englishman in my opinion and they where really poor without him.
