Premier League Predictions 2023/24: Gameweek 7 Picks

We have an uncharacteristic Premier League Gameweek 7 in store this week, with just one match on Sunday. There is, however, the traditional Saturday 5:30pm kick-off and Monday Night Football for fans to maintain their televised football fix.
This is how we see each live game going this week, conveniently pointing you in the right direction for our correct scores on each match...
Premier League Gameweek 7 Predictions
Aston Villa vs Brighton
- Saturday 30th September, 12:30pm, TNT Sports 1
I'm really looking forward to this match between two progressive teams that have each enjoyed superb starts to the season. Brighton are flying high in 3rd with 15 points from six games, three points ahead of 6th-placed Aston Villa who have stamped four wins on the board.
Goals have been a staple in each team's games so far this season - Brighton have scored 18 and conceded 8, while Villa have scored 12 and conceded 10 - and I'm expecting an entertaining end-to-end game on the south coast to kick-off the weekend.
Jack Kitson's Prediction: Aston Villa 2-2 Brighton
Tottenham vs Liverpool
- Saturday 30th September, 5:30pm, Sky Sports Premier League
While it's difficult to nail down a pick in the match result market, there should be no shortage of goals in North London. Postecoglou has seen his side score two or more in every single one of their six PL matches so far.
Liverpool, although not at the same level they were a few years ago, maintain their unbeaten start, winning five on the trot following an opening weekend draw with Chelsea. Both teams have scored in six of LFC's seven fixtures, including last Thursday's 3-1 Europa League win over LASK.
Luke Hamilton's Prediction: Tottenham 2-2 Liverpool
Nottingham Forest vs Brentford
- Sunday 1st October, 2pm, Sky Sports Premier League
Both sides come here off the back of two-goal deficit defeats in the league, although Forest losing away at City certainly is less disappointing than Brentford’s home loss to Everton.
The Bees had started the season strongly, so that result was a surprise, but Thomas Frank has his side well drilled and will be expecting a response. Forest look a more threatening outfit this year after another glut of signings and I think this one looks like a score draw. I’ll chance 2-2 as the pick.
Billy Grimshaw's Prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-2 Brentford
Fulham vs Chelsea
- Monday 2nd October, 8pm, Sky Sports Premier League
Chelsea make the short trip to Fulham in Gameweek 7, with the Blues currently three places behind their West London rivals in the table. Only Luton and Burnley have scored fewer goals than Chelsea this season, with the two newly-promoted clubs having played one game fewer.
It would take a brave man to be getting behind Mauricio Pochettino’s side in this clash after just one win in seven matches so far, including back-to-back home defeats to Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa. Fulham took four points from Chelsea in the league last season and backing the draw looks a wise play here.
Anton Eadson's Prediction: Fulham 1-1 Chelsea
