Premier League Outright Betting: Paddy's have priced up a tasty Salah/Man City double

Paddy Power have priced up an appealing double relating to this season’s Premier League.
The Irish bookmaker have combined two outright variables into one bet, offering odds of 13/8 for Manchester City to regain the league title from Liverpool and Mohamed Salah to finish as the division’s top goalscorer.
Salah stuns Hammers, signalling he's back to his best
Salah is currently the even-money favourite to repeat his exploits from 2017-18, where he won the Golden Boot after scoring an astonishing 32 goals in the top-flight - making him the first player to surpass the 30-goal mark in one domestic campaign since Luis Suarez scored 31 for the Reds in 2013-14.
The Egypt international also shared the award in 2018-19, alongside Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane, who netted 22 goals apiece.
Last season Salah missed out on the award by four goals, as Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy pipped Aubameyang and Southampton’s Danny Ings to the post, but this season the 28-year-old leads the way in the Premier League’s top scorer chart having scored 15 goals - three more than second-placed Harry Kane (9/1) has to his name at the time of writing.
Kane, however, is now sidelined with an ankle injury and will miss at least three of Tottenham’s upcoming league fixtures while he recovers, dealing his chances of outscoring his fellow professionals a huge blow.
Son Heung-min has also scored 12 goals this season but is currently experiencing a lull in performance for Spurs, failing to find the net in his last four outings for the north Londoners.
Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Leicester’s Vardy, Leeds United’s Patrick Bamford and Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin each have 11 goals to show for their efforts so far this term, though catching a player of Salah’s quality - who already has a four-goal headstart - is probably going to prove a step too far for any of those players.
It is certainly hard to look past Salah winning his third Golden Boot in four seasons, especially after witnessing his performance during Liverpool’s 3-1 win over West Ham on Sunday - where he notched two stunning second-half goals - following a brief drought where he had failed to score or provide an assist in his previous six league outings.
With Kane’s injury considered and Salah seemingly regaining form, it is no surprise that he is pulling clear in the Premier League top scorer betting market, now odds-on with a number of firms at 10/11 - which is a price few punters would be rushing to get behind, making this double all the more appealing.
Watertight Cityzens primed for fifth title in 10 years
Just like Salah, Manchester City look back to their best right now. Pep Guardiola’s side currently top the league, three points ahead of Manchester United in second and four ahead of third-placed Liverpool, with a game in hand over both of those sides.
The Cityzens have won their last five games without conceding and look watertight at the back, with the acquisition of Ruben Dias massively strengthening them in that department.
Scoring goals at the top end of the pitch has rarely been an issue for Manchester City, but last season they were poor defensively and it ultimately cost them the title, alongside the flawlessness of a rampant Liverpool outfit who pretty much had the league wrapped up by March.
This time around, though, the Sky Blues have the best defensive record in the division having shipped just 13 goals in 20 games and it looks as though, at this point in time, they will just continue to canter towards a fifth Premier League triumph in 10 years.
However, City’s odds for the title are incredibly short as a result of their dominance in recent months. Pep’s side are odds-on at 1/4 to lift the trophy in May which is obviously a price nobody is bothering to get behind.
With this double, though, there is a great opportunity to yield some decent profit by combining two variables which, at the moment, look set to roll in.
