Premier League Betting Tips: 40/1 & 34/1 accumulators for the final day of the season

Manchester United and Bruno Fernandes will be looking to secure a top-four finish against Leicester and feature in our 40/1 accumulator
Manchester United and Bruno Fernandes will be looking to secure a top-four finish against Leicester and feature in our 40/1 accumulator

It’s been the longest Premier League season in history but the final day is almost upon us and I’ve picked out two accumulators to get your teeth into. There’s set to be drama at both ends of the table with European places up for grabs and two sides set to join Norwich in the Championship next year and face relegation.

Premier League top-four finish

34/1 Accumulator

  • Everton Win

  • Tottenham -1 match handicap

  • Chelsea v Wolves: Draw

  • Man City -2

I’m starting this four-pronged punt with Everton to win at home to Bournemouth. The Toffees are unbeaten in ten home league games since Don Carlo took over back in December but will have to settle for a bottom half finish this season. Bournemouth have lost their last nine away league games and have only won once on the road since September and I think they will be relegated at Goodison this weekend.

I see Spurs doing an absolute job on Crystal Palace here and have opted for the -1 Match Handicap on Tottenham meaning they need to win by two goals or more.  Jose Mourinho’s side need to and better Wolves’ result against Chelsea to qualify for the Europa League. Otherwise they will have to hope Chelsea win the FA Cup in order to qualify. Kane has scored four in his last two games and he should be hungry for more at Selhurst Park on Sunday. Palace have only won once since the resumption of the Premier League and have now lost seven on the trot! A terrible run of form in which they have scored in only one of those seven matches!

Chelsea need just a point against Wolves or need to hope Leicester don’t beat Manchester United in order to qualify for the Champions League and I’m backing the draw here. Wolves need to win to ensure a top-six finish with Spurs breathing down their necks. Nuno’s side had had an extra two days to recover for this one which I think could be crucial. No side has seen their games finish as a draw more than Wolves this season who have racked up eleven stalemates. I think both teams could be a little nervy but do see the away side attacking here and I think the draw looks the logical bet.

Rounding this one off is Manchester City -2 match handicap. Norwich have lost their last ten league games and I see this being a training session for City with a chance for a few of the youngsters to impress. City have amassed three 5-0 victories since the restart as well as a 4-0 home win over Liverpool. If they win by three or more goals it will be 100 in the league for City this season  and can hopefully give us a super sunday to end the season.

40/1 Both teams to score accumulator

  • BTTS: Leicester v Man Utd

  • BTTS: Newcastle v Liverpool

  • BTTS: Arsenal v Watford

  • BTTS: West Ham v Aston Villa

  • BTTS: Burnley v Brighton

  • BTTS: Chelsea v Wolves

  • BTTS: Southampton v Sheffield United

22 of the 24 teams scored on Wednesday evening in the final round of Championship fixtures and I’m hoping for more of the same with this 40/1 longshot of 14 teams to find the net on the final day.

Starting off proceedings is Leicester v Manchester United. Ole’s side have to prevent Leicester from winning in order to qualify for the Champions League and I think they will come out hungry looking for early goals and to go all out for the win. In the current top 4 betting market United are 1/4 with the hosts 13/8 with most firms. I’m thinking with this one that when either side scores the first goal it should create a certain amount of urgency in finding the net for the other.

I think Liverpool could have a slight hangover after the Premier League trophy was presented at Anfield on Thursday evening and I’m backing Newcastle to find the net. Since Liverpool were mathematically crowned Champions they have conceded elevel goals in six games, and with Newcastle’s forwards in form forwards such as Allan Saint-Maximin potentially running at a scouse second string side I’m backing both teams to score here.

Watford travel to the Emirates knowing they need to better Aston Villa’s result at West Ham in order to stay up. This should give us quite an open game, particularly in the first half and I’m hoping that the need to pick up a result here should see the Hornets throw a lot more emphasis to the opposition goal in comparison to the damage limitation mentality they adopted against City.

It’s a similar case in my next selection with a claret and blue clash of West Ham and Aston Villa in the capital. Villa are favourites for this one in the match betting and that is because they have it all to play for, whereas their counterparts are already safe with just pride to play for as they cannot move higher than 15th in the table. Dean Smith’s are unbeaten in their last three and have scored in each of those games.

All ten Premier League fixtures are being shown on TV on Sunday afternoon and If I was a betting man I would not mind a little punt on Burnley v Brighton having the lowest viewing figures of the 10. I’m going against the grain here with Burnley having been one of the best defensive sides this season but with both sides set to give some youth a chance I think this could be quite an open affair.

Chelsea v Wolves is a tasty looking last day tussle, and I think fatigue could be a factor here in the second half creating lots of counter attacking opportunities. Wolves are proven second half specialists and I think this could be the game of the day with goals on the agenda. Chelsea have attackers in good form in Christian Pulisic, Willian and Oliver Giroud and after netting three at Anfield on Wednesday I think they’ll find the net once again here.

The final selection of this mammoth acca, is Southampton v Sheffield United. Both sides have had good seasons in my opinion, in particular Chris Wilder and Sheffield United who have been one of the highlights of the campaign. They’ve punched above their weight and should feel very proud of their top half finish. Southampton turned their season around after the 9-0 defeat to Leicester and in Danny Ings they have a striker in the form of his life. They’re unbeaten in their last six and have scored in all of those games. Let’s hope we get half as good a last day to the Premier League as we did with the Championship on Wednesday. As usual please remember to gamble responsibly and I’ll be back with more selections for the start of next season.
