Premier League Profit and Loss: Who are the best sides to bet on this season?

Chelsea currently sit top of the Premier League as we approach the festive season and after 11 matches we’ve decided to take a look at the profit and loss data. The tables below show how much each side would have returned had you backed them to win each game with a £10 stake. Crystal Palace currently lead the way as the most profitable team to follow so far this season with Newcastle the least profitable after failing to win any of their first 11 fixtures.
Top Three most profitable Premier League Teams
Crystal Palace +£183.00
Up until their trip to Manchester City in Gameweek 10, those who had placed £10 on Crystal Palace to win each game this season would have been looking at a negative return on their investment. However, Patrick Viera’s men defied the odds with a memorable 2-0 victory at the Etihad with the Eagles priced at a whopping 18/1 to take all three points. Palace followed that up with a win over Wolves on their most recent league outing and despite winning three games all season, they top the profitability table.

West Ham +£74.00
After a superb sixth place finish in 2020/2021 West Ham are once again flying high and after their victory over Liverpool two weeks ago which was priced at 7/2, The Hammers now sit third in the table and find themselves just three points behind leaders Chelsea. David Moyes’ side have won seven games this season with all of those being priced above evens before kick-off.
Spurs +£30.30
It’s been a funny old season for Tottenham so far with Nuno Espirito Santo winning a manager of the month award before being relieved of his duties as manager. Antonio Conte is now the man in charge and for those who had backed Spurs to win each game this season with a £10 stake, they would be in profit to the tune of £30.30. On the opening weekend of the season Spurs managed a 1-0 victory over Manchester City (5/1) with this being their biggest price win so far this term.
The Least Profitable Premier League teams
Newcastle -£110.00
Amidst all the positivity around the takeover at Newcastle and the appointment of Eddie Howe as manager, we must remember that this side are yet to win a game this season. The Magpies are the only side in England’s top four divisions yet to record a win and as a result, they are the least profitable side to bet on so far this season.

Burnley -£83.40
Next up we have Burnley who have won just one of their 11 games so far this term. That victory came against Brentford with Sean Dyche’s side were priced at 13/8 to pick up the three points that day and if you’d backed them with a £10 win stake each game you would be £83.40 in the red.
Leeds -£71.90
Rounding off the three least profitable teams to follow this season in the Premier League are Leeds. The Yorkshire club have won just two games this term with their victories coming against Watford at 4/5 and against Norwich, priced at 19/20.
