Poland Euro 2021 Tips and Betting Odds

Welcome to BettingOdds.com's Euro 2021 profile series, where we'll be counting down to the tournament with an in-depth look at the betting opportunities for each of the countries involved.
Poland’s best two finishes at Major tournaments came in 1978 and 1982 when they twice finished third at the World Cup. Only twice before have they qualified for the European Championships, reaching the quarter-finals last time out. Poland went off at 50/1 to win the tournament in 2016 and are slightly bigger this time round at 80/1.
Author's Opinion
In Robert Lewandowski, Poland have one of the most accomplished and naturally gifted strikers at the tournament. His relentless pursuit of goals for both club and country has resulted in him being the country’s all time top goalscorer and the breaking of Gerd Muller's long standing Bundesliga record of 40 goals in a season which Lewandowski broke in the final seconds of the season, hitting 41 in the league.
I do feel Poland are lacking in other areas and I don’t think they are in as good a position as they were five years ago going into Euro 2016. At 8/15 I can see them qualifying from their group and a second place finish for both Poland and Croatia in their groups would mean the two face off in round of 16 with Portugal or France the most likely opponents in a quarter-final.

Top Three Key Players
Robert Lewandowski
There’s one man who stands out more than any in the current Poland squad and that’s Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski. The 32-year-old has time and time proved himself as one of the greatest and most dynamic strikers on the planet and if he had not picked up in injury in the final quarter of the campaign, there’s a good chance he would have broken Gerd Muller’s record of 40 league goals in a single season. With 66 goals in his International career, big Robert is Poland’s all time top goalscorer and his contribution will be vital at this summer’s tournament.
Piortr Zielinski, Napoli
Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski will be another key member of the Poland squad at Euro 2021. The midfielder has eight goals and eight assists in Italy this season and is now valued at over £45m in the transfer market.
Jan Bednarek, Southampton
Jan Bednarek’s Premier League experience will be vital at the heart of the Poland defence across the continent this summer. Still only 25, Bednarek has just finished his fourth season with the Saints and already has 29 caps to his name.
Young Gun
Jacob Moder, Brighton
In September 2020 21-year-old Jakob Moder made his International debut for Poland in a 1-0 defeat against the Netherlands. The midfielder was signed at the start of the campaign by Brighton and was immediately loaned back to Polish side Lech Poznan. The midfielder is now back at Brighton and he scored his second goal for his country in the 2-1 defeat against England in March.
Poland’s Outright Odds at Euro 2021
Poland have twice finished third at a World Cup, but their best finish at a European Championship came in 2016 when they reached the quarter-finals. Priced at 80/1 to lift the trophy with Paddy Power, Poland’s odds imply a 1.2% chance of becoming European Champions for the first time.
Poland’s Group Odds at Euro 2021
Poland have been drawn in Group E along with Spain, Sweden and Slovakia. The Eastern European outfit are 6/1 to top the group with bookmaker bet365 and are 8/15 to qualify for the knockout phase of the tournament.
The Gaffer
Paulo Sousa is the manager of Poland’s national side. The former Inter Milan, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund player has managed in England at QPR, Leicester and Swansea and took over as head coach of Poland in January 2021. As a manager, Sousa has won the top flight title in Hungary, Israel and Switzerland.
