Peterborough vs Sheffield United Prediction: Three tips for the late kick-off on Saturday
Playoff chasing Sheffield United travel to Peterborough on Saturday, live on Sky Sports for an evening kick off.
Peterborough vs Sheffield Utd Tips:
Heartbreak for Peterborough in their last outing means they are still without a league win since Millwall at home in the middle of December. They led Birmingham 2-0 before conceding twice after the 85th minute in their last match, resulting in a 2-2 draw to continue the rot. The hosts currently sit 2 points from safety with a game in hand, knowing a win here could lift them out of the bottom three.
Sheffield United claimed their first win of the new year last weekend, after a comfortable 2-0 win vs Luton. Strikes from Brewster and Jack Robinson puts them 8 points adrift from the playoffs, although they have significant games in hand on the teams above them. 5 wins and a draw for the Blades in their last 7 games has seen them climb to 12th in the Championship table. The away side will be confident heading into this fixture after dispatching Posh 6-2 in the reverse fixture at the start of the season.
Brewster seems to be having his best spell in a United shirt and looks a great price to score again Vs the worst defence the league has to offer.
The ex-Liverpool man has scored 3 goals in his previous 5 starts and has accumulated 16 shots across this time – including 7 shots and a goal in his last outing. Peterborough have conceded a league high of 53 goals this season, so it makes sense to back Brewster to exploit this. Other firms have this same bet around 5/4, so a chunky price available on BetVictor.
I was just expecting this man to be the shortest player to be carded, so was surprised to see him out as long as 4/1.
The Posh midfielder has never been far away from the refs book during his time in the EFL. He’s a player who loves to get stuck in (2.6 Tackles per game) and has accumulated 44 cards across his last 4 seasons – being cautioned 6 times in his last 12 games!
In-front of the cameras this price is too good to turn down, so I am happy to make this 4/1 shot a 1 point play.
Adding on from the Norburn booking, for a long-shot I’m adding an away win and BTTS.
I expect The Blades to win here but they struggle to keep clean sheets especially away from home - they’ve managed just 2 clean sheets in their last 12 away games and Peterborough have only failed to score in 2 of their last 8 home games. With just 1 win in 12 for the hosts you would expect the visitors to push for all 3 points.
The reverse ended 6-2 in favour of Sheffield United, so something similar again here would be perfect for our long-shot. I am happy to have a small 0.25Pt stake here at 20/1.
