Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois Betting Tips: 13/1 punt advised for heavyweight title fight

Pound-for-pound king Oleksandr Usyk puts his heavyweight titles on the line against the young British prospect Daniel Dubois in Poland on Saturday 26th August.
After our most recent combat sports preview for UFC 292 yielded two winning tips at 2/1 and 4/1 last weekend, we're hoping to deliver that same return with three bets on this exciting boxing contest.
The Ukrainian Usyk makes his eagerly anticipated ring return, sitting out of action for over a year since that comfortable split decision win over Anthony Joshua. Talks with Tyson Fury over a mega unification fight didn't provide the result boxing fans were hoping for, which leaves Usyk needing to dispatch of Dubois to continue his surge on the heavyweight division.
On the other side of the ring is the aforementioned Dubois - stepping into his first title fight at the tender age of 25. There's been a lot of talk about the Londoner carrying a puncher's chance in this bout, but against the 20-0 three-belt holder Usyk, he's going to need more than a powerful shot to return home as the unified heavyweight champion.
Bookmakers have landed on Usyk as an immense 1/10 favourite to win, offering up 15/2 for those brave enough to back Dubois to dethrone him. A draw is incredibly unlikely and the 33/1 on show reflects that outcome.
Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois Tips
Oleksandr Usyk has never been a power puncher, not at cruiserweight and certainly not as a heavyweight. He's a skilled technician and a slick assassin who will outlast and outthink his opponents. Usyk wears down his opponents and utilises his excellent conditioning, unrivalled footwork and impeccable timing to either steady himself to points decisions or like he did to 13 victims at 200lbs, convincingly end the contest before that final bell.
His most recent split decision flattered Anthony Joshua, when really it should have been declared an uncontested win from all three judges, making Usyk's last three fights unanimous on all of the scorecards. AJ made their second fight closer by being busy, but the gulf between the two was still clear as daylight.
It remains to be seen whether Daniel Dubois will replicate this game plan on Saturday, or if the 25-year-old will wish to back up claims from his camp that he punches harder than his British counterpart.
Dubois last went the distance in a 10-rounder with Kevin Johnson in 2018, hence why the odds are as they are. But the Brit was learning on the job that night. Five years removed, Dubois will know he can't just let his hands go and offload against a masterly champion like Usyk. He'll need to be much more calculated and focused on his timing, avoiding the familiar trappings of overexertion.
That's why we should see every single round in its entirety in Poland - Usyk choosing exactly when to push the pace and when to take time off across his 47-minute stay.
This fight is a WBA mandatory title defence, with the boxing association ordering their champion to allow Daniel Dubois to challenge for his belt. Dubois has won four fights since his knockout loss to Joe Joyce, but they have come against opposition with far less prowess than Usyk. Even then, Kevin Lerena managed three first-round knockdowns before the Brit prevailed in the third last December.
While you can never count out a heavyweight's chances, Dubois doesn't have a hope of outboxing Usyk for 12 rounds. So, as you'd expect, his best bet will be to remove that decision the equation and to clean out the Ukrainian inside the distance.
Admittedly, Usyk did lose rounds in his two-fight throwdown with Anthony Joshua, finding himself caught by some good shots. However, AJ poses a deadlier threat than Dubois, who has no notable scalps on his résumé as of yet.
Seven of "The Cat"'s 20 victories have come via decision - two being unanimous - with each of his last three ending that way since stepping up to heavyweight.
If the two bets aren't appealing to you as singles, you can pair them up and grab a juicy 13/1 with Paddy Power or Betfair.
