Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool Prediction, Lineups and Odds: Best bets at the City Ground

Nottingham Forest have had a remarkable season so far under Nuno Espírito Santo, sitting third in the Premier League after 20 matches. As they prepare to host league leaders Liverpool, a positive result tonight could see them leapfrog Arsenal into second place - at least temporarily - with the Gunners not playing until tomorrow.
Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool kicks off at 8pm and will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 1.

Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool Predictions
The Tricky Trees have collected 18 points in six matches. They’ll be brimming with confidence as the league leaders visit the City Ground.
Meanwhile, Liverpool lead the way after a terrific first half of the season. They’ll respect Forest, with their only defeat this season coming against their upcoming opponents.
The Reds arrive here as favourites and are priced at 13/20 to claim maximum points; only Newcastle and Arsenal have prevented Liverpool from earning three points away from Anfield.
This is a tough encounter to predict. Considering Forest’s brilliant campaign, they’re ranked as the 9th-best home side in the division.
Forest boast a +0.46xGD/90 and they’re the second-best defensively, with a combined xGA of 7.9. We know about their style: they defend deep with numbers and allow no space in behind, while the pace and trickery on the break cause plenty of damage.
Liverpool are by far and away the best away side in the league. With a +1.54xGD/90, it’s outstanding. Bournemouth ranks second with +0.55 - that’s some comparison. The league leaders are top too for xG and xGA. They’re a force.
Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch have been excellent performers in this Liverpool side. They’ve formed a great partnership in midfield, and both are expected to start on Tuesday night. The foul numbers that these two produce have been consistently impressive all season.
Mac Allister has started 16 Premier League games this term and has committed a foul in 15 of those. The World Cup winner has fouled an opponent multiple times in his previous five appearances.
Gravenberch has started all 19 games for Liverpool this season and has been a standout star under Arne Slot. He's fouled a player on 17 separate occasions.
Backing the pair to commit a foul each seems a sensible selection.
I’m not sure if this clash will turn into a high-scoring contest. We have two strong defences against one another. The reverse fixture ended with a single goal. A combined five of 39 matches between them this campaign have seen less than five goals. 1.38xG was created at Anfield in September when Forest earned a shock victory.

I’ve been impressed with Cody Gakpo in recent weeks. The Dutchman has found the back of the net in three consecutive Premier League outings. He loves the cut-in off the left and isn’t afraid to have a go from a distance. Two of his six goals have arrived from outside the box. With Darwin Nunez suspended, it could mean that the in-form attacker is allowed more minutes.
Backing Gakpo to score from outside the box could also be worth some interest. Forest will defend their penalty area, and space in behind will be few and far between. It’s priced at 12/1. It could take something special to score past the sensation Matz Sels.
