Nottingham Forest vs Brighton Prediction, Lineups and Odds: Two shot based bets for today's lunchtime kick-off

Nottingham Forest and Brighton kick off the Premier League weekend shortly as they go head-to-head at the City Ground, live on TNT Sports 1 at 12:30pm.
Third-placed Forest will be eager to respond after their shock 5-0 defeat to Bournemouth, while Brighton arrive in Nottingham looking to bounce back from their own setback; a loss to Everton.
Our resident Brighton fan, Matthew O’Regan, has highlighted two shot-related bets for this clash, complete with his stats and reasoning below.
Nottingham Forest vs Brighton Predictions
Despite battling against relegation for the majority of the 2023/2024 season, Nottingham Forest are now chasing Champions League qualification and sits just nine points off leaders Liverpool. Nuno Espirito Santo has built a team full of endeavour and hard work, littered with star quality and talent throughout. A 5-0 loss at Bournemouth thwarted a nine-game unbeaten run that included eight wins, with wins against Manchester United, Aston Villa and Tottenham the standouts.
The Reds have been strong at the City Ground, picking up 21 points from 11 games, with the matches averaging just 2.3 goals in low-scoring cagey affairs. The reverse meeting saw a 2-2 draw in a dramatic game at the AMEX.
Brighton were stunned at home to Everton, losing 0-1 to end their seven-game unbeaten run, which included three straight wins away at Norwich, Ipswich and Manchester United. The Seagulls were disappointing in the defeat, registering just one shot on target, despite trailing for the majority of the game.
Fabian Hurzeler will also be frustrated with his side’s inability to convert draws into wins, drawing ten games already this season – the most in the Premier League. Albion away games have been entertaining seeing an average of 3.16 goals, with 8/12 seeing at least three goals.
Murillo has become a fan favourite at Nottingham Forest. The 22-year-old is an enigma, displaying a fearless attitude to the game. While he originally won fans over with his determination and bravery defensively, his willingness to step out of defence with the ball has won the heart of the Forest faithful.
While the Brazilian isn’t the tallest, especially compared to his centre-back partner Nikola Milenkovic, he is also a threat from outside the area and not afraid to try his luck from distance. He has had a shot in 13 of his last 16 starts.

Tariq Lamptey is undergoing somewhat of a renaissance in a Brighton shirt after falling out of favour. The highly popular diminutive full-back has already started five Premier League games, scoring twice and laying on two assists. He will likely start again in the absence of Ecuadorian left-back Pervis Estupinan.
The 24-year-old is averaging 0.84 shots per 90 and has had a shot in six of his seven starts in all competitions.
