Norwich vs. Blackburn Betting Tips: Back Travis to be carded in East Anglia

Norwich City host Blackburn Rovers live on Sky Sports on Saturday in the Championship. The game kicks-off at 5:30pm and we’ve previewed the action and provided you with our best bets for the game.
After being relegated from the Premier League last season, Norwich currently find themselves 4th in the Championship table, 10 points behind leaders Burnley. The Canaries resumed their campaign after the World Cup break with a 1-0 away win over Swansea last weekend thanks to a very early Teemu Pukki goal.
Blackburn on the other hand were battered 4-1 on home soil by Preston in their first fixture since the Championship hiatus last Saturday with fans discouraged after two really concerning performances in local derbies in their last two matches. Rovers still sit third in the table but have lost three of their last four league outings.
Norwich vs Blackburn Tips
Our first pick for this game is for Norwich to win. Despite Blackburn sitting third in the table, you can speak to any of their fans (including myself), and they will tell you just how worrying the most recent two performances have been against local rivals Burnley and Preston.
Against the Clarets, Blackburn mustered up just one shot in the entire 90 minutes and then last week put in another disappointing showing in the defeat to Preston, letting off just seven shots to Preston’s 13. Rovers have struggled to enforce manager Jon Dahl Tomasson’s philosophy of playing out from the back and will need to up the game if they want to avoid a fourth defeat in five league matches.
Norwich on the other hand have only been beaten once in their last five league matches, and with quotes of around 4/5 on show for the win on Saturday, and Blackburn in poor form, all things point to a home win.
We’ve also picked out a player to be carded in this match in the form of Blackburn’s Lewis Travis. 5/2 may feel like a bit of a short price to be siding with for a player but hear us out.
In the 2020/2021 season, Lewis Travis was shown 13 yellow cards in the Championship, and followed that up with another ten the next campaign. This term he has already collected six cautions, four of which have come in away matches. With four yellows in just 11 away starts this season and a tough game against Norwich, Travis looks a prime candidate to be carded.
Furthermore, another potential booster for this bet is that referee Paul Tierney will be in charge. Premier League fans will be well aware of Tierney and in the 2020/2021 season he averaged the most yellow cards per game of any top-flight official (3.90).
