Next Wolves Manager Odds: Who could replace sacked Gary O'Neil?
Wolves are on the hunt for a new manager after the club sacked Gary O'Neil following a 2-1 defeat at home to Ipswich Town.
The last-gasp loss marked their eleventh defeat in 16 league games this season and their fourth in a row, leaving the Midlands club in 19th place, four points adrift of safety.
We have looked at the early contenders to become the next Wolves manager...
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: 1/1
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has emerged as the early favourite with bookmakers to succeed Gary O'Neil as Wolves manager.
The former Manchester United boss has been without a job since leaving Old Trafford three years ago, but speculation surged when he was spotted in the stands at Molineux on Saturday.
While it was reported that he was there to support Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna, who worked as a coach under him at United, could there be another reason behind his unexpected appearance?
Steve Cooper: 8/1
Steve Cooper is priced at 8/1 in the betting, which seems a tad short considering he has only just been relieved of his duties by Leicester City, who ran out of patience after all of 12 Premier League games.
It was always going to be a tough task for Cooper who had big shoes to fill following the departure of the club's Championship-winning manager Enzo Maresca, who has gone on to enjoy a bright start to his Chelsea tenure.
Cooper previously led Nottingham Forest into the Premier League, took Swansea to the Championship play-offs on two occasions, and lifted the U-17 World Cup trophy with England.
Sergio Conceicao: 8/1
The available former Porto boss Sergio Conceicao is also available at 8/1.
The passionate Portuguese coach is known for his intense, high-pressing, and attractive style of play, which delivered 11 trophies - including three league titles - during his successful seven-year spell in charge of Porto, who he left in June with an impressive 72% win record.
Pedro Martins: 12/1
Another Portuguese coach follows in the betting market, with Pedro Martins priced at 12/1 to take over at Molineux. Unlike the aforementioned Conceicao, Martins is currently employed as manager of Qatari club Al-Gharafa, a job he's held since 2022 and won the Manager of the Year award last season.
Martins has spent the majority of his managerial career in his homeland, most notably with Rio Ave, Maritimo and Vitória de Guimaraes, while he won a hat-trick of Greek Super League titles with Olympiacos.
Graham Potter: 20/1
Graham Potter will surely be on the radar of struggling Premier League clubs. The former Brighton boss, who has surprisingly remained out-of-work since leaving Chelsea in April 2023, is an interesting price at 20/1 for Wolves, as well as being the 2/1 joint frontrunner for West Ham, whose own incumbent Julen Loeptegui remains under pressure despite overcoming Wolves on Monday night.
Potter recently revealed he is ready to return to the dugout, but Wolves may struggle to convince the Englishman that they are the right suitors, given their poor start and position in the table.
Selected Others
Former West Ham boss David Moyes is available at 8/1 to return to the Premier League after his summer exit.
Gareth Southgate is 25/1 to take up his first job since leaving England after Euro 2024.
Could Wolves look to the Championship? West Brom boss Carlos Corberan is 10/1 to step up into the Premier League, while x-Coventry City manager Mark Robins is further back at 16/1.
