Next Tottenham Manager Odds: The permanent replacement options for Spurs

Tottenham are hunting for their fourth permanent manager since 2019 after they split with Antonio Conte and handed Cristian Stellini the title of “acting head coach” for their remaining 10 matches of the season.
Here at BettingOdds, we put forward six contenders for the Spurs job earlier this month, however with the make-up of the next Tottenham manager market since changing somewhat, we’ve now taken an updated look at who could be appointed as the club’s next full-time boss.
The managers we've honed in on have been divided into three categories:
- Out-of-work options
- In-work options
- Wild cards

Out-of-work Options
Tottenham's last three appointments were all out-of-work at the time and it's a route they look likely to go down again.
The most significant change from our previous article is the introduction of Julian Nagelsmann (7/4, BetVictor) as the sparkling brand-new favourite in the betting after he was surprisingly sacked by Bayern Munich last week.
Aged just 35, the talented and highly-regarded German coach has already accumulated seven years of experience under his belt from spells at 1899 Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig, and Bayern Munich; leaving the latter with the Bundesliga title, back-to-back DFL-Supercups, a 71.4% win rate, and a 100% winning record in this season’s Champions League.
A difficult relationship with a few senior players coupled with a not-so-dominant showing in the league so far this term are believed to be the main reasons behind Bayern Munich’s ruthless decision to sack Nagelsmann, with his former mentor Thomas Tuchel swiftly replacing him.
At Spurs, Nagelsmann would inject a dose of impetus from a tactical perspective. He's very flexible, likes to switch things up, is innovative, and has a track record of developing young players.
Spurs have shown interest in the past and will no doubt have identified the talented coach as one of their main targets.
It’s now been nine months since Mauricio Pochettino left PSG and he’s surely itching to get back into management.
The former Spurs boss looked to be a shoo-in for a Spurs comeback a week ago, however the unexpected availability of Nagelsmann has added a new dynamic to the market, meaning Pochettino has dropped to second favourite in the betting, but only just, at a best-priced 4/1 (BetVictor).
It would be an emotionally charged and potentially risky return, yet one that could reap rewards. His style of play, popularity with fans, and familiarity with the club and its key players make him a logical fit in many ways.
One thing to note when it comes to both Nagelsmann and Pochettino is the possibility of a vacancy at Real Madrid opening up. There have been a flurry of rumours linking Carlo Ancelotti to the Brazil job and, should that happen this summer, Los Blancos could well set their sights on the German and Argentinian.
Nagelsmann and Pochettino do appear to be the stand-out options, but Luis Enrique is difficult to ignore at 9/1 (Paddy Power).
The Spaniard won the treble with Barcelona, had two spells in charge of the Spanish national team, and has worked in Serie A with Roma. A ticket to the Premier League could therefore be high on his agenda.
After missing out on the France job Zinedine Zidane (16/1) could well be eyeing a return to club level, although a third spell at Real Madrid appears far more likely, while former River Plate boss Marcelo Gallardo may attract attention.
In-work options
While there are an assortment of high-quality managers available for hire in the Job Centre, this isn't to say that Tottenham won't widen their net to encompass managers in work.
Premier League options include Brentford's Thomas Frank (14/1) and Brighton's Roberto De Zerbi (20/1), two managers who play attractive football and are enjoying superb seasons as they each push towards a European spot.
Ange Postecoglou (20/1) has been impressing north of the border at Celtic where he won the league and league cup double in his first season, which he could well top in the form of the treble this term. We've previously seen former Old Firm bosses Brendan Rodgers and Steven Gerrard depart Scotland for the Premier League, could the popular Australian and his attractive "Ange-ball" be next?
Ruben Amorim (16/1) is an exciting young manager whose star continues to shine brightly at Sporting CP, where he's won the title, beaten Spurs in this season's Champions League, and more recently dumped Arsenal out of the Europa League.
Eintracht Frankfurt's Oliver Glasner is now as short as 11/2 with some bookmakers. The Austrian propelled Frankfurt to Europa League glory in his first season, reached the last-16 of the Champions League this term, and has hopes of winning the German Cup and securing a top-4 finish.
Another name to keep an eye on is Arne Slot (251) at Feyenoord. In his debut season, the Dutchman won the Rinus Michels Award for the Eredivisie Manager of the Year and led his troops to the Europa Conference League final. He's currently pursuing a stunning treble with Feyenoord top of the league, through to the semi-finals of the KNVB Cup, and seeking revenge on Roma in a Europa League quarter-final.
Alternatively, the current interim boss Cristian Stellini is 16/1 to bag the full-time job next season. An impressive end to the current campaign could win him backers.
Wild cards
Admittedly, I'd be pretty surprised if Tottenham didn't appoint any of the aforementioned managers.
With that said, absolutely no one expected Spurs to opt for Nuno Santo in 2021, so we've therefore picked out a handful of wild cards.
BetVictor have former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa out at 40/1 to make a surprise return to the Premier League. The iconic Argentine sparkled in his first season in England's top-flight, before things fizzled out. Out of action for a year now, he's been linked with a second spell at Athletic Bilbao, a return to his homeland with River Plate, and even a move to Everton.
Daniel Levy loves a high-profile name and Diego Simeone (33/1) represents just that. His type of football isn't for everyone but it's impossible to argue with the results: two league titles and two Europa League cups, plus four other trophies, and two Champions League final appearances. Attempting to prize him away from his beloved Atletico Madrid is likely to prove fruitless.
Franck Haise has been making a name for himself in French football where he successfully elevated Lens into Ligue 1, then established their top-flight status with impressive back-to-back 7th place finishes. Currently 3rd, his troops still have an outside shot at the title.
Closer to home, 25/1 outsiders Vincent Kompany and Michael Carrick are both working their magic in the Championship. Burnley are flying high and surely on the cusp of lifting the title, while Boro could well join them in the Premier League following a stunning transformation under Carrick, who played for Spurs between 2004 and 2006. It would be a big step up for two young, yet hugely talented managers.
