Next Southampton Manager Odds: Potential replacements for Ralph Hasenhuttl

Southampton have sacked manager Ralph Hasenhuttl after four years in charge.
The decision follows Southampton’s 4-1 thrashing at home to Newcastle, which was the club’s eighth loss in 14 Premier League games so far this season, and one that left the struggling Saints penned in the relegation zone
We've had a closer examination of the early names in the frame in the early next Southampton manager odds in the table below. and provided a few alternative options...
We've already seen five Premier League managers depart this season and it's fair to say that some of the clubs in a similar position to Southampton have recruited some high-profile replacements in recent weeks, including Unai Emery at Aston Villa and Julen Lopetegui at Wolves.
Could we now see a big name appointment at Southampton?
Marcelo Gallardo’s next move in management has been the subject of widespread debate ever since he revealed that he would be leaving River Plate in December.
The Argentine has spent eight hugely successful years in charge of River Plate, where he's won 14 trophies, including two memorable Copa Libertadores triumphs.
Given that the 46-year-old has previously been linked to the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, it would be a colossal coup if Saints could lure him over to St Mary’s.
Joining Gallardo as an early contender in the betting odds - courtesy of Bet Victor - is Nathan Jones: two names I didn’t think I’d ever mention in the same sentence.
Jones did a terrific job in spearheading Luton to the Championship play-offs last season and has the club knocking on the promotion door again this term.
Jones previously fired Luton to promotion into League One in his first spell, before he was lured up to the Championship for what proved to be a thoroughly disappointing stint at Stoke where he won just six of his 38 matches. However, he's fully recovered from that blemish since returning to Luton in May 2020, and was recently linked with the Brighton job.
If the Saints are contemplating a Championship manager, another boss catching the eye this season is Vincent Kompany who has Burnley top of the table after 20 matches following his summer appointment. Swansea's Russell Martin has also impressed.
In regards to out-of-work managers with Premier League experience, ex-Burnley boss Sean Dyche and former Aston Villa chief Steven Gerrard are both looking for their next challenge.
Could Saints look to Europe? Highly-rated young boss Domenico Tedesco is available and counts Schalke 04, Spartak Moscow and RB Leipzig as former clubs.
Bo Svensson is impressing at Mainz, as is Urs Fischer at the helm of surprise Bundesliga contenders Union Berlin, plus Franck Haise whose Lens side are challenging PSG at the top of Ligue 1.
Then there's Matthias Jaissle whose work with a young and talented Red Bull Salzburg squad could make him a potential contender, while Kjetil Knutsen is a name we've become accustomed to seeing in English manager markets due to the outstanding job he's doing in Norway at Bodo/Glimt, who memorably inflicted a 6-1 thrashing on Jose Mourinho's Roma last season.
There's also the Thomas Frank connection given that Brentford's former Co-Director of Football, Rasmus Ankersen, is now working at Southampton. It is, however, difficult to see Frank switching top-flight jobs, and earlier this year he signed a new Bees contract to 2025.
Out at 33/1 you can find the likes of Ange Postecoglou (Celtic), ex-Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa, and former Spurs and Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas.
