Next Match Of The Day Presenter Latest Odds: Mark Chapman the Betting Favourite

The BBC have yet to select who will replace Gary Linekar in the iconic Match of the Day hot seat after the former Leicester City striker announced his shocking retirement.
Below, we run through the contenders to replace the iconic host in the coveted post, according to the latest odds from the best betting sites. To place a bet, simply click on the odds of your chosen selection.
Mark Chapman: 7/4
To many, Mark Chapman is the logical choice, and right now he is seen as the favourite for this prestigious job.
Chapman, the 7/4 favourite, is a brilliant broadcaster who has not only presented Match of the Day 2 since 2013 but stepped in to host the main show on multiple occasions, so he's extremely well placed to fill Lineker's shoes.
Chapman has been under the BBC umbrella since 1996 and has vast experience from a lengthy broadcasting career, which includes work on 5 Live Sport, the popular and long-standing The Monday Night Club, The NFL Show, and he's worked at major football tournaments, the Rugby World Cup, the Masters, Super Bowl, and the Olympics.
Alex Scott: 3/1
Sitting just behind Mark Chapman in the MOTD market is fellow BBC presenter Alex Scott at a best-priced of 3/1.
Since hanging up her boots, Scott has received plenty of praise as a pundit and presenter. She has worked on various programmes on Sky and BBC, most notably Football Focus, which she has hosted since 2021.
Kelly Cates: 4/1
Kelly Cates is priced at 4/1 to get the job.
Cates works for BBC Radio, alongside gigs on Sky Sports - covering the Premier League and Football League - and ESPN, while she has experience of hosting a similar job to Match of the Day having previously led Football League Tonight on Channel 5.
Although, when asked who should be the next MOTD presenter by The Mirror, Cates said:
"There are people like Chappers (Mark Chapman) who has been doing Match of the Day, who is brilliant, and then Gabby (Logan) does a lot of the live football for them, and does a lot of Match of The Day, as well.
"So I just think there's really, really good people who are friends of mine and who are in line for it, so it would be really weird (to say she could take on the role)."

Gabby Logan: 14/1
Like Mark Chapman, Gabby Logan is a BBC stalwart with the experience, expertise, and profile to replace Lineker in the armchair.
Logan has worked for BBC Sport since 2007 and has filled in for Lineker on Match of the Day before. She has excelled in presenting the athletics, Olympics, Six Nations, Final Score, and The Premier League Show to name just a handful and at 10/3 she certainly represents an appealing price.
David Jones: 14/1
David Jones already has a prominent position on Sky Sports as the presenter of Super Sunday and Monday Night Football, which he's led for the last eight years.
In truth, it's difficult to see him vacating these high-profile jobs anytime soon, but if BBC do come calling then he may have a big decision to make.
Kelly Somers: 16/1
TV presenter Kelly Somers is one of the brightest talents at the BBC where she's built up an impressive resume with work on Final Score, Match of the Day, The Women's Football Show, and Football Focus.
Somers also hosts the popular Fantasy Premier League show, has presented Amazon Prime's Premier League games, and was used as the BBC's main England reporter in the build-up to and during Euro 2024, during which she delivered exclusive interviews from the camp and the touchline.
It has been reported that the BBC are considering Somers and Mark Chapman as joint presenters, so watch this space.
