Next Crawley Manager Odds: Graham Alexander, David Artell and Lewis Young linked

Crawley Town became the 19th club in the top-four tiers of English football to change manager this season after the League Two club axed Kevin Betsy on Sunday. Assistant Dan Micciche has also departed Broadfield Stadium.
Appointed in the summer from Arsenal U23s as the replacement for John Yems, Betsy now departs after just four months in charge, during which he could only register one win from a dozen league games.
His final outing was a 3-0 defeat to Grimsby, which left Crawley rock-bottom of the Football League with just six points on the board.
Below we take a closer look at the next Crawley manager odds market…
Crawley have confirmed that Lewis Young has been placed in charge of the first team as interim manager, although they’ve not given any more information on how long he will be in charge or if they are even searching for a new permanent manager.
Given their precarious position at the foot of League Two, we assume that they are planning on bringing in a new face, possibly an experienced head.
There are a number of available managers with plenty of EFL experience under their belts, including the likes of Graham Alexander, David Artell, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Paul Tisdale, and Darren Ferguson.
It’s Graham Alexander, who turned 51 today (Monday), that’s been installed as the early favourite in the betting at 2/1 with BetVictor. He previously led Fleetwood to an historic promotion into League One, took Scunthorpe into the third-tier play-offs, won promotion into the EFL with Salford, and most recently spent 18 months in charge of Motherwell with whom he left in July.
Alexander’s style of play isn’t for everyone, but the fact of the matter is Crawley need results after a very poor start.
David Artell (6/1) has been linked with numerous League Two and League One posts this season - including Exeter City right now - but has yet to return to management since leaving Crewe last April. His ability to develop young talents certainly makes him an attractive option, although he was reportedly interviewed for the Crawley vacancy in the summer and nothing came of it.
Out at 20/1, Paul Tisdale has buckets of League Two experience from spells at Exeter, MK Dons and Stevenage, although his stint at the latter didn’t go to plan last season with just three wins from 21 matches. Steve Evans has since rejuvenated the club, who are currently top of the table.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (12/1) and Darren Ferguson (16/1) may be both harder to lure down to League Two.
Next Manager Markets
As for interim Lewis Young, the former Reds defender previously took charge of the club following the exit of John Yems, but failed to win any of his four matches in charge (D1 L3). However, it looks like he could be given another opportunity to see if he can turn the club’s season around, starting on Tuesday at home to Aston Villa U21s in the Football League Trophy.
Other names that feature in the betting come from the National League pool of managers, including Daryl McMahon (Dagenham & Redbridge), Andy Woodman (Bromley), Luke Garrard (Boreham Wood), and Lee Bradbury (Eastleigh).
There are plenty of 25/1 outsiders, such as Nathan Rooney, Duncan Ferguson, and Nigel Adkins.
