Newcastle vs. Man City Betting Tips: Two bets for Wednesday's televised cup game

Fresh off an 8-0 thumping of Sheffield United away from home, Newcastle United host Manchester City at the St James’ Park in the third round of the EFL Cup this Wednesday.
Eight different players scored for the first time in the history of the Premier League as Newcastle got back to winning ways in emphatic fashion after a 0-0 draw away to AC Milan in the Champions League. They started off the season with three losses in their opening four games but have started to look a lot more solid in recent weeks, having kept three clean sheets in a row and scoring a total of nine goals in that run; eight of which came against Sheffield United at the weekend.
As for Manchester City, they have a perfect record in the league so far having won six out of six and amassing a total of 18 points putting them right on top of the Premier League table. They raced into a 2-0 lead against Nottingham Forest inside 14 minutes but their key man Rodri received a 46th minute red card and there were no further goals.
Guardiola’s men also possess the best defensive record in the league, conceding just three goals all season. However, Manchester City now have a lot of key players out and Guardiola has hinted at a lot of changes ahead of this cup game. Last year’s finalists Newcastle will be expected to field a strong lineup and we could be in for a highly competitive affair.
Team News:
Joelinton, Willock & Emil Krafth are out for Newcastle while Harvey Barnes is doubtful.
Kevin De Bruyne, Mateo Kovacic, Bernardo Silva, John Stones & Rodri are all out for Manchester City.
Newcastle vs Man City Tips
Pep Guardiola made it very clear in his pre-match press conference that he will be resting most of his first team starters here and with up to five key players already out injured, we could see a young Manchester City line-up with a few academy players included in the squad.
Newcastle were last year’s finalists and are coming off the back of a huge 8-0 hammering of Sheffield United. They are expected to put out a strong lineup which makes them a value play in the Draw No Bet market which will return our stakes in case of a draw.
We will be taking this as our main bet with a 1pt stake for this cup clash.
Anthony Gordon has made a fantastic start to the season for Newcastle, looking electric every time he gets on the ball and creating a lot of chances for them.
He has the second most assists for Newcastle in the first six games of the season and looks way too big at 6/1 to register another assist against a Manchester City side who are missing some of their key players.
Happy to take this as our second bet for this game with a small 0.25pt stake.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
