Napoli vs. Rangers Betting Tips: Two tips as Rangers look to avoid another drubbing
It’s been a real contrast in Champions League form between Napoli and Rangers this season, and Wednesday’s Group A encounter should show the current gap in quality again.
Napoli vs Rangers
Napoli have been one of Europe’s surprise teams so far this campaign, currently top of both Serie A and their UCL group, they remain unbeaten, drawing plaudits from far and wide for their fast attacking style of football. 15 games into their season, they’ve scored an eye-watering 43 goals, at an average of just under 3 per game. That’s been enhanced by their defensive solidity, where the Neapolitans have conceded just 13 goals so far.
Kvicha Kvaratskhelia has been the bargain of this summer and many others before, with Kvaradona lighting it up both in the league and on the continent, but more on him to come soon.
For Rangers, their first season back in the Champions League in 12 years promised so much, but has ultimately delivered little. The highlight of The Gers’ campaign so far would be taking the lead at home to Liverpool, before going on to lose 7-1. The Ibrox faithful would have been confident in securing any kind of points in the group, especially in the home fixtures, but the game in quality has been shown as more of a chasm in recent weeks.
As always, we’ve looked ahead to Wednesday night’s game, and picked out two tips that we like the look of.
We promised there’d be more on Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, and here we are. It might be too early to say, but Kvaradona may well be the greatest player to ever grace the beautiful game.
Signed for €10m from Dinamo Batumi, the Georgian has endeared himself to the Naples faithful, and they have responded with murals and all sorts.
Moving on to the stats, Kvaratskhelia has been directly involved in 15 goals in 15 games in all competitions for Napoli, including five in four Champions League games. Both of his goals so far came home and away against Ajax, as the Italian side scored 10 goals over the two games. With the difference in quality clear, and Napoli will be looking to win the group on Wednesday night, putting on a show for their home crowd.
When we saw this price, we honestly thought it must have been a mistake. 17/1 for Napoli to score over 5.5 goals. A team who recently scored six away at Ajax, up against a Rangers side who conceded seven in their last Champions League game.
For those interested, Napoli have scored over 3.5 goals (13/5) on six occasions this season, and over 4.5 (13/2) twice, but the fact that they are up against a Rangers side that are five goals away from conceding that most ever in a UCL group stage gives me confidence that the longshot will land.
Best of luck if you’re following any of these bets, and please gamble responsibly.
