Man Utd vs. Newcastle Betting Tips: Two bets for Wednesday's big League Cup clash
In the repeat of last season’s final, Manchester United lock horns with Newcastle United in this all important Round 4 clash of the Carabao Cup this Wednesday. Tipster Wizard is our man for the 8:15pm televised game and he has provided his two best bets for the action.
Erik Ten Hag’s men eased past Crystal Palace 3-0 to cruise into the last 16, while Newcastle overcame Manchester City in a memorable 1-0 win in the last round. After three wins in a row in all competitions, the Red Devils were hammered 3-0 in the Manchester Derby by their neighbours but will be hoping to bounce straight back here and progress to the quarterfinals of this competition.
As for Newcastle, they are in mixed form having won one, drawn two and lost one of their last four games in all competitions. They have won just once in their last six away games in all competitions but have progressed past this stage in the last nine editions of this competition which will give them confidence ahead of their trip to Old Trafford. The Magpies have already beaten Ten Hag’s men 2-0 earlier this season and I expect another mouth-watering cup clash coming our way this Wednesday.
Team News:
Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, Amad Diallo & Jadon Sancho are out for Manchester United while Casemiro & Aaron Wan-Bissaka are doubtful.
Emil Krafth, Elliot Henderson, Jacob Murphy, Sven Botman, Alexander Isak & Sandro Tonali are out for Newcastle while Harvey Barnes is doubtful.
Man Utd vs Newcastle Tips
- Antony Over 1.5 shots
- Match result will be Man Utd or Draw
Antony averages 2.3 shots per game for Manchester United this season and will be eager to impress after being on the sidelines in recent weeks. He will be expected to start here against a Newcastle side playing their third game inside a week and who are already struggling with a lot of absences due to suspensions and injuries.
Newcastle have only won once in their last six away games and fatigue will be another huge factor when they travel to Old Trafford for this cup clash. Adding Manchester United to at least get a draw in 90 minutes makes sense. Combining these two selections gives us a solid bet builder and I will take that as our main bet with a 1pt stake.
This is an important game for both sides with qualification to the quarter-finals at stake, which could naturally lead to a cagey affair, especially inside the first 45 minutes. In the second half, I expect fatigue to be a factor and Newcastle’s injury issues to affect them, which could hand a big advantage to the home side.
We are getting an attractive price of 9/2 for the “Draw/Man United” selection in the Half-Time/Full-Time market and we will take that as our second bet with a small 0.25pt stake.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
