Man United vs Tottenham Prediction, Odds and Betting Tips: Back this 11/1 anytime goalscorer bet
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are set to clash at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, live on Sky Sports.
Both teams experienced contrasting starts to their Europa League campaigns in midweek, with United drawing 1-1 against FC Twente, whilst Spurs cruised to a 3-0 win over Qarabag with 10 men from the 7th minute.
Dean Woodward has provided his best bets for the crunch clash, including an 11/1 pick from the anytime goalscorer market.
Man United vs Tottenham Predictions
Manchester United continue to face growing pressure under Erik ten Hag following Wednesdays Europa League draw. Despite Christian Eriksen’s stunning strike, United’s inability to capitalize and maintain control led to another disappointing result. With only one win in their last four matches, Ten Hag’s side have been underperforming, especially given their high Expected Goals (xG) figures. Currently in the bottom half of the standings, United desperately need to find their finishing touch and prove they can turn their dominance into results.
Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Manchester United will have the same squad available for their clash with Tottenham, with Leny Yoro, Tyrell Malacia, Victor Lindelof, and Luke Shaw all remaining sidelined. Kobbie Mainoo is likely to earn a recall in midfield, potentially replacing Manuel Ugarte or Christian Eriksen. Alejandro Garnacho is pushing for a spot in the starting lineup, which could be the better option for getting in behind that high Spurs back line.
Tottenham, on the other hand, are finding their rhythm under Ange Postecoglou, scoring eight goals in their last three games across all competitions. Whilst Spurs have struggled on the road in recent times, they’ll be encouraged by their recent record against United, having gone unbeaten in their last three Premier League meetings at Old Trafford.
Tottenham had a brief injury scare with captain Son Heung-min during their Europa League win over Qarabag, but manager Ange Postecoglou reassured fans that it's not a serious issue. Son, who leads the Premier League with the most chances created from open play this season (13), is expected to be fit and ready to face United. With Dragusin’s red card suspension only affecting European games, the only confirmed absentees for Spurs are Wilson Odobert and Richarlison for their trip to Old Trafford.
Man Utd Starting XI
Onana, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Martinez, Dalot, Ugarte, Mainoo, Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford, Zirkzee.
Tottenham Starting XI
Vicario, Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie, Kulusevski, Bentancur, Maddison, Johnson, Solanke, Werner.
Matthijs de Ligt has slotted straight into this United side alongside Lisandro Martinez, and with Maguire missing out to De Ligt, the Dutchman has been United's main target from set pieces.
In three games for the Red Devils he's managed five shots already, with two coming against Southampton where he scored (nearly twice), and three coming against Palace, hitting the target with all three and somehow not scoring.
Looking back at the 25-year-old centre-half's data for German giants Bayern Munich, his shot record is also much better than most realise. Across 22 appearances in the Bundesliga in the 2023/24 season, he managed 14 shots, at an average of 0.9 shots per 90; a shot coming every 99 minutes!
That trend has continued for United and I expect that to continue against a Spurs side who can look suspect from defensive set pieces.

On debut against Liverpool, De Ligt didn’t register a shot, but has since gone on to look a complete menace in the opposition box, and can be backed at 11/1 to score on Sunday.
He had two shots in his next game against Southampton, scoring one and somehow not scoring his second that was on target.
His next start came against Crystal Palace last weekend, where again, he was a menace in the Palace box, accumulating an xG of 0.53, hitting the target with all three shots and somehow not scoring. Two of those chances came from corners, with the chance in the 12th minute amassing an xG of 0.4 forcing a great save.
Depending on whether Eirksen plays or not, I'd be very tempted with a long shot with De Ligt to score and either Eriksen/Bruno to assist, both priced around 30/1. If Eriksen plays, it's likely he will be on set pieces, but if Ugarte and Mainoo start centrally, it will revert back to Bruno.
