The hosts are having a terrible season by their standards as they sit 13th in the Premier League table with just 37 points after 30 games.
Ruben Amorim’s men were on a run of four games unbeaten before going down 1-0 to Nottingham Forest in midweek in a game they probably deserved to get at least a point from on the balance of play. However, they are now five games without a loss at Old Trafford in all competitions, winning three of them so will be confident of causing Guardiola’s men problems this weekend.
The visitors Manchester City are also going through a rough season by their standards as they are only competing for the FA Cup and finishing inside the top five of the Premier League to book a Champions League spot for next season. Guardiola’s men currently sit fifth in the league table with 51 points but with Newcastle just one point behind them with a game in hand, the Citizens can not afford to drop any points in this crucial clash.
These two rivals were involved in a scintillating game earlier this season with Manchester United scoring in the 88th & 90th minute to overturn a 1-0 deficit and win 2-1, and I expect another competitive Manchester Derby this weekend.

Bruno Fernandes is averaging the most shots (2.7) for Manchester United this season in the Premier League. He is United’s top goal scorer with eight goals in the league and loves attempting shots from distance.
He is also their designated penalty and free kick taker which further boosts this selection. He attempted two shots against Manchester City in the reverse leg earlier this season, scoring a goal and should be fully motivated to dent City’s Champions League qualification chances.
As for cards, Manchester City have received at least one card in 12 of their 15 away games in the Premier League. We have a card happy referee in John Brooks who has dished out 130 yellow cards across his 26 games in all competitions, averaging five cards per game.
City will likely control most of the possession and dictate the play while United will look to hurt them on the counter, and this should provide us with ample opportunities where a City player could be forced to take a yellow card for committing a cynical foul.
The Derby factor is an additional thing to look out for and certainly increases the likelihood of a heated game with some strong tackles going in. Combining these two selections gives us a solid bet builder at odds of 4/5 and we will take it with a 1pt stake as our main bet.
Marmoush has been hugely impressive since signing for Manchester City in the January transfer window, scoring five goals in just seven Premier League starts so far.
He has now scored in back to back league games for City and with Haaland out for a while, Marmoush will be playing upfront for City as their biggest attacking threat.
He is also a top quality free kick taker and capable of scoring from range and with United’s defensive vulnerabilities, he looks a solid shout to get on the scoresheet this weekend.
As for Bruno Fernandes, he is United’s top scorer with eight goals this season and scored in the reverse leg. He has three goals and two assists against Manchester City in 10 head-to-head appearances, and he is always fired up when these two sides meet each other. As mentioned earlier, he will be on penalty duties and also taking the free kicks which is an added bonus for this pick.
Combining these two selections gives us a cracking longshot @ 10/1 and we will take it with a small 0.25pt stake as our second bet for this Manchester Derby.
