Ten Hag’s men started off their campaign with a nervy 1-0 over Fulham before getting beaten by Brighton through a 95th minute Joao Pedro header at the Amex Stadium last week.
However, they have a decent home record against Liverpool in recent times, winning two and drawing one of their last three head to head meetings at this venue.
As for Liverpool, they have made a fantastic start to the season winning both their games 2-0, not conceding a single goal so far.
After a kind opening two fixtures against Brentford and Ipswich, this will be the first real test for Arne Slot’s men as they aim to make it three wins on the bounce and keep their perfect start to the season intact.

Bruno Fernandes tops the leaderboard for shots for Manchester United with seven shots in just two league games so far. He has been playing further forward and getting into threatening positions in and around the box and he is also the designated free kick taker for the club. He has also registered at least one shot in all four of his head to head meetings against Liverpool, also scoring a goal in this exact fixture last season.

Ryan Gravenberch is leading the Premier League fouls charts with seven fouls to his name. He has also hit the “Over 1.5 fouls” line in both of his league starts so far this season and loves a cynical foul to disrupt the opposition’s momentum.
As for Bruno Fernandes, he has registered six shots in his last two meetings against Liverpool, clearing the “Over 1.5 shots” line in both games. He is also top of the shots leaderboard for Manchester United this season with seven attempts after two league games so far. Combining these three selections gives us a cracking longshot bet builder @ 11/2 and we will take it as our second bet for this massive fixture with a small 0.25pt stake.
