Man City vs Liverpool Prediction, Lineups and Odds: Back Sunday's 11/2 Bet Builder

Live on Sky Sports, Manchester City host Liverpool in the Premier League this Sunday at the Etihad Stadium.
Tipster Wizard has supplied his best bets for the game.
Man City vs Liverpool Predictions
The hosts are going through an incredibly disappointing season by their usual standards, sitting fourth in the Premier League with 44 points, a huge 17 points behind Arne Slot’s Liverpool who sit top of the pile. They produced a lacklustre display at the Bernabeu Stadium this past Wednesday in a 3-1 loss, getting knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid 6-3 on aggregate. They were hammered 5-1 by Arsenal earlier this month in the Premier League but bounced back well with a 4-0 win over Newcastle. They will be hoping for a similar display of performance as they go up against a highly motivated Liverpool side looking to solidify their top spot.
Arne Slot’s men sit top of the Premier League table with 61 points after 26 games and are the favourites to win the league title this season. They are on an incredible run of 22 games unbeaten in the league since their 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest but they have drawn two of their last three league games, giving Arsenal a hope of catching them as the difference in points has come down to eight with Arsenal having a game in hand. Having lost just one league game all season, they will head to the Etihad Stadium full of confidence. They are unbeaten against Guardiola’s men in their last three league meetings, also beating them 2-0 earlier this season in a game they completely dominated from start to finish.
Liverpool are the only team in the Premier League with an unbeaten away record this season and with Mohamed Salah firing on all cylinders with 24 goals and 15 assists already this season, it will be tough for a struggling Manchester City defence to stop them this weekend.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has attempted a shot in his last 10 consecutive Premier League starts for Liverpool. He is constantly bombing forward and linking up with Mohamed Salah to get into threatening positions just outside the opposition’s penalty box and getting shots away. He attempted three shots against Manchester City in the reverse leg at Anfield and with Conor Bradley injured, I expect him to play close to 90 minutes here.
Omar Marmoush was averaging 4.5 shots per game for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga before signing for Manchester City in January. He has attempted a shot in all four of his starts for Manchester City since joining and scored a fantastic hat-trick in his last home appearance in the league against Newcastle United. He loves a shot from both outside and inside the box and will be eager to get on the scoresheet against the league leaders.
As for Liverpool, they have looked vulnerable defensively but they have no problems in finding the back of the net. They have scored at least one goal in their last 22 consecutive league games and with Manchester City struggling defensively (No Clean Sheet in 7 of their last 8 in all competitions), Liverpool should have no problems getting on the score sheet.

As mentioned earlier, Trent is likely going to play close to 90 minutes due to Conor Bradley’s injury which gives a major boost to our pick. He has attempted two or more shots in five of his last six league starts. He attempted three shots in the reverse leg and with Gvardiol’s tendency to bomb forward from the left side, Trent will get plenty of opportunities to take advantage of the open spaces and get his shots away. He also takes free kicks for Liverpool which is an added bonus for our selection.
As for Marmoush, he is a shot magnet. In his two Premier League home starts, he has attempted four and two shots against Newcastle and Chelsea respectively. He is also City’s new designated free kick taker which further boosts the chances of him taking at least two shots this weekend.
Finally, Liverpool have scored two or more goals in 20 of their last 22 league games which is an astonishing record. They scored two goals in the reverse fixture and with City suffering from a lot of defensive injuries at the moment, Liverpool’s attackers have enough firepower to get on the score sheet twice.
