Liverpool vs Newcastle Prediction & Starting Lineups: Best bets and offers at Anfield

Wednesday's headline Premier League match, Newcastle vs Liverpool, is moments away from kick-off, live on TNT Sports 1 at 8.15pm.
Read on for Matthew O’Rega's preview and best bets, while there's still time to take advantage of two fantastic offers for tonight's game: Betfair are offering new customers odds of 50/1 for Mo Salah to have a shot on target, while new customers at Parimatch can back Liverpool at 30/1 to claim the win at Anfield.
Liverpool vs Newcastle Predictions
Both sides come into this game after a win on Sunday. Newcastle beat Nottingham Forest in a game where they went 1-0 down and then were leading 4-1 at halftime before eventually holding on to win 4-3, while Liverpool brushed past reigning champions Manchester City 0-2 at the Etihad.
The wins are bound to inspire confidence heading into the latter stages of the season, with Newcastle chasing Champions League football and Liverpool pursuing just their second Premier League title.
Eddie Howe’s side now sit fifth in the league, only behind Manchester City on goal difference and Nottingham Forest by three points. The 47-year-old will be delighted to have come from behind for the win but will be disappointed with his sided second-half performance, with Forest much the better team for the final 45.
After their nine-game winning streak, the Toon Army have been littered with inconsistency in recent weeks. Defeats to Bournemouth (1-4), Fulham (1-2) and Manchester City (4-0) have derailed the momentum a bit, but Newcastle are still primed for European qualification.
Liverpool capitalised on yet another Arsenal slip-up, beating the reigning champions Manchester City 0-2 in a complete performance at the Etihad. This result put them 11 points clear at the summit and eradicated some lingering doubts after unconvincing results and performances in their last three.
Arne Slot’s side have lost just once all season and are relentless in their pursuit of a treble. The reverse fixture finished 3-3 in a topsy-turvy game, with both bets tipped for this encounter winning.
After yet another goal and assist in the win at Manchester City, Mo Salah is on for an unprecedented season that sees him as a front-runner for the Balon d’Or. The Egyptian has now scored in eight consecutive games in all competitions, taking his tally to 30 goals and 21 assists in 38 appearances.
His Premier League numbers this year are amongst the greatest ever seen, scoring 25 and assisting 16 in 27 starts, averaging 0.94 goals and 0.60 assists per 90. The last time Salah didn’t score in an Anfield start was on the 14th of December, so the 10/11 about for him to score presents serious value.

While Alexander Isak’s numbers aren’t as ridiculous as Salah’s, The Swede is still having a tremendous season, scoring 19 goals and assisting five goals in 24 Premier League starts, averaging 0.86 goals and 0.23 assists per 90.
Callum Wilson’s injury issues have coincided with a drop-off in form, meaning Isak has had to carry the majority of the attacking burden for his side. Going forward, he is averaging 3.09 shots and 1.55 shots on target per game, hitting at least two shots in 18 and a shot on target in 16 of his Premier League starts.
While Liverpool have been hard to break down this season, Newcastle will likely be chasing a goal and with Isak almost guaranteed to play 90 minutes, the 25-year-old is the obvious threat to the Red’s defence.
