Liverpool vs Man City Prediction, Odds and Betting Tips: Best Bets for the Blockbuster Premier League Clash
Live on Sky Sports, the league leaders Liverpool lock horns with defending Champions Manchester City in a monumental Premier League clash at the Anfield Stadium this Sunday.
Liverpool vs Man City Predictions
Arne Slot’s men are on a dream run of 14 wins in their last 15 games in all competitions and sit top of both the Premier League as well as the Champions League tables. A 2-0 win over Spanish powerhouses Real Madrid in midweek continued their 100% win record in the competition and as a result they go into this game full of confidence and belief knowing that three points here could put them in an almost unassailable 11-point lead over Guardiola’s men.
As for Manchester City, they were on a rotten run of five losses in a row in all competitions before they went 3-0 up against Feyenoord in the Champions League in midweek. However, some comical defending led to conceding three late goals in the last 15 minutes and they could only manage a draw against the Dutch side. Confidence is at an all-time low and the absences of key men Rodri, John Stones & Kovacic are having a detrimental effect on their season. However, if there is one team you cannot write off, it is the defending Champions Manchester City. Despite their dreadful form, they have enough quality in their squad to turn up to any ground and pull off a win and considering how significant this game is in terms of the title race, I expect the City players to be fired up for the occasion and go toe to toe with Liverpool.
Meetings between these two sides have been full of goals in recent seasons, with both teams finding the net in ten of their last 11 head to head clashes in all competitions and we could be in for another entertaining affair as both sides look to claim all three points.
A blockbuster Premier League clash awaits us, and I have included my two best bets for the clash in the preview below:
Team News:
- Allison, Chiesa, Tsimikas & Jota are out for Liverpool while Conor Bradley & Konate are doubtful.
- Rodri, Oscar Bobb, John Stones & Kovacic are out for Manchester City while Doku is doubtful.
Matheus Nunes has committed a total of nine fouls in just three starts for Manchester City in the Premier League this season. He has committed a foul in all seven starts across the Premier League and the Champions League for Manchester City and has been a massive physical presence for Pep Guardiola in the absence of Rodri. His pace will be crucial in transitions against the quick Liverpool attackers and with his tendency to commit a lot of fouls, I expect this selection to sail in.
Liverpool have scored at least one goal in their last 15 consecutive games in all competitions while Manchester City have conceded a goal in five of their six away games in the Premier League this season. Liverpool have also scored in their last 11 consecutive head to head meetings against Manchester City and considering how vulnerable the visitors’ defence is at the moment, this should be a banker.
Liverpool are averaging 15.2 shots per game at the Anfield in the Premier League this season, attempting at least eight shots in all 12/12 league games this season. The last two times Manchester City have visited the Anfield, Liverpool have attempted 19 and 13 shots respectively.

For the second selection, we will be taking higher lines on all three selections.
Matheus Nunes has committed a total of 14 fouls in his seven starts across the Premier League and the Champions League this season, averaging two fouls per game.
Liverpool have scored at least two goals in their last seven consecutive games in all competitions, with all of their attackers in supreme goalscoring form right now. Manchester City’s defensive issues are also a big factor when picking this selection as they have conceded at least two goals in their last six consecutive games in all competitions too.
Finally, I expect the Anfield crowd to push Liverpool and keep them on the front foot, which will lead to a lot of efforts on goal by their side. They have attempted at least nine shots in all 12/12 league games this season and are averaging 16 shots across their last two head to head league meetings against Manchester City at the Anfield.
Combining these three selections gives us a cracking longshot betbuilder @ 4/1 and we will take that with a small 0.25pt stake as our second bet for this massive clash.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
