Liverpool vs Newcastle Odds: Best bets for Thursday's game at Anfield

There are three games in the Premier League on Thursday evening with Liverpool taking on Newcastle at Anfield at 8:00pm. The game is live on BT Sports and @AnthonyEadson has provided us with his best bets for the game.
Liverpool have not lost at home to Newcastle since all the way back in 1995 and Jurgen Klopp will be expecting that run to continue with his team priced at just 1/9 to claim the three points and stretch their winning run in the league to six matches.
With a busy schedule ahead of festive fixtures Jurgen Klopp is expected to rotate his starting XI, with the game against Tottenham at the weekend in mind. Naby Keita, Ibrahima Konate and Takumi Minamino may all come in, however, Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones and Nathaniel Phillips all remain sidelined through injury.
Paul Dummet is the only injury worry for Newcastle with Eddie Howe expected to change his formation to a slightly more defensive five at the back for their tough trip to Anfield. The Magpies were brought back down to earth with a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester on Sunday, after claiming their first win of the season the week prior.
Liverpool vs Newcastle Tips
The first selection I’ve picked out on Thursday evening comes from the anytime assist market where I’ve taken a lean towards Trent Alexander Arnold providing one in the match priced at 7/4.
Liverpool’s right-back has provided seven assists in 14 starts in the Premier League so far this term with only teammate Mohamed Salah registering more in the division this campaign with nine.
Trent’s delivery and ability to put chances on a plate for his comrades has been top draw this season with him ranking first in the league this season when it comes to key passes, with an impressive 3.1 per game on average.
Even with a heavily rotated side I can still see Liverpool racking up the goals on Thursday evening, the Reds have scored the most goals in the league and Newcastle having conceded the joint-most along with Norwich. Trent has amassed 5.8 Expected Assists this season with only Salah having more and with this in mind I’m drawn to the 7/4 from Unibet with other firms such as Bet Victor going odds-on at 10/11 on the same selection.
I’ve also picked out something at a bigger price for those who like a bit of a longshot. This one is priced at 33/1 and consists of Diogo Jota having over 1.5 shots on target with Jonjo Shelvey and Javier Manquillo both to be carded.
I’m fearful that Mohamed Salah may well be rested for this game and I like the look of Diogo Jota to rack up the shots against the Toon. Jota has scored eight goals in just 12 league starts this season and with him hitting 2+ shots on target in two of his last three at home I’m confident of this landing at 10/11.
Mike Dean will be the referee in charge of the game and despite being a little card shy this season, the notorious official has ranked in the top four referees for yellow cards per game shown in the last three seasons. Jonjo Shelvey picked up seven yellows in 30 appearances last season and has two yellows and a red in just seven starts this term.
Javier Manquillo is another who could find his way into the notebook on Thursday. The full-back has been shown four yellow cards in just ten league appearances this season and could be in for a long evening.
To recap, that’s 33/1 on that three-pronged punt with bet365. Best of luck to those following and please always gamble responsibly.
