Leeds vs. Crystal Palace Betting Tips: McKennie to be carded at Elland Road
Leeds United take on Crystal Palace in West Yorkshire on Sunday afternoon and we’ve once again called on the services of Anthony Eadson to provide us with two bets for the game that represent good value from the betting markets.
Javi Gracia’s side secured a vital three points on Wednesday evening when managing a 2-1 victory over rivals Nottingham Forest. It’s now just one defeat at home in the league for Leeds since the turn of the year which came against Manchester United. That midweek win sent Leeds all the way up to 13th in the standings, but don’t be fooled, they still sit in a dangerous position, just two points above the drop zone.
The congested nature of the bottom half of the league table means Crystal Palace are still in danger on 30 points. Roy Hodgson did manage a win over Leicester in his first game back as manager, but will be well aware, The Eagles have only picked up 10 points on the road this campaign. Palace sit one place above Leeds and three points to either side here would be a massive step towards survival.
Leeds vs Crystal Palace Tips
The first of two selections on Sunday is for Weston McKennie to be carded. At the time of writing this is available at a best-price of 19/5 with either BetUK or Unibet, while other betting sites such as BoyleSports, go considerably shorter at 9/4.
Since his loan move from Juventus in January, Weston McKennie has made 10 appearances in the top-flight. Three of those have been as a substitute and in his seven starts, he has been shown a yellow card in four of those! I’ve mentioned above how big this game is for Leeds, they average more fouls per game than any other side this season (12.9 per game), and I expect a lively affair with plenty of cards on Sunday.
I’ve also had a small dabble on Jack Harrison to score anytime in the match. William Hill are top-price on this one, with a generous looking 5/1 on show. Crystal Palace have failed to keep a clean sheet away from home this year and I fancy Leeds to push hard from the off.
Harrison has let off at least two shots in three four matches, with the only exception in that being against Arsenal. He has three goals in his last four and with 75% of his goals being scored at home this season, he looks a little too big of a price here against a Crystal Palace side who will be without Wilfried Zaha.
